Tough game to grade. I think arguments can be made to lower a few players grades but in winning time everyone played A+ ball. Also I’ve said it in the GDT a lot but the grizzlies played great more than the wolves slept walked in my opinion
Kekgeek grades G41 vs Griz
Re: Kekgeek grades G41 vs Griz
Enjoy this new contribution to the page. Thanks for putting in the effort. Will there be a year end tabulation of grades to show who had the highest GPA? If so, thanks in advance.
At this point it would seem Gobert is lapping the field with consistency.

Hahaha, we’ll see. I am doing a mid season grades tomorrow.
Re: Kekgeek grades G41 vs Griz
How many A+++ do you give Ant's second half? That game was fun.
Re: Kekgeek grades G41 vs Griz
While I’m on vacation and unable to watch the games, I’ll offer up my box score grades - i.e., grades based solely on each player’s box score stats. Before I get into individual grades, I love that the Wolves had six players with double-digit point totals. The team that has the most players with double-digit score totals tends to be the winning team. With that general comment, here are my box score grades:
Conley: A (Did almost everything you could expect from a PG - 10 assists, 0 turnovers, 2 steals and 17 highly efficient points)
Ant: A (Did what your star player should do, leading the team with 28 points while adding 5 rebounds and 5 assists)
Jaden: B- (11 points on 5-9 shooting is very good. But only 3 boards, 0 assists, 1 steal & 1 block)
KAT: B- (14 points on 5-12 shooting - 40% from behind arc - along with 7 rebounds, 1 block & only 1 TOV is solid, but..,)
Gobert: A+ (Dominant box score with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 6 blocks and a +20)
Naz: A+ (20 points in 24 minutes, 8-13 FG, 4-5 behind the arc, 2 steals, 1 block, +16. That’s definitely an A+ game)
Slo Mo: C+ (Limited to 15 minutes, but gave us 3 boards, 3 assists, 1 steal and only 1 turnover in that time. Solid)
NAW: C+ (Was a +13 with 5 assists and 7 points in 25 minutes. Very solid)
JMac: Incomplete (7 minutes isn’t enough for me to assign a box score grade)

Re: Kekgeek grades G41 vs Griz
Lip, NAW deserves at least Kek's B+ because he was the one player on the Wolves who looked like he was in a playoff game every minute he was out there. I get why some of our guys (especially Ant, although he redeemed himself in the second half) sleep walked through the first half...even though the Griz were playing well, they had mostly a G league team out there. But NAW was focused from the moment he hit the court and brought a lot of energy. I continue to marvel at his ability to fight through screens...it ends up blowing up so many offensive possessions. NAW's and Rudy's defense turned this game around for us.
Re: Kekgeek grades G41 vs Griz
And that’s the difference between a strictly box-score grade and a fully informed grade. NAW’s box score says C+ (maybe B-) but you and kek saw things that don’t show up in the box score and concluded that he deserved a B+. I’m guessing that Jaden’s A- from kek also reflects things that aren’t apparent in Jaden’s box score stats.FNG wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 7:33 am Lip, NAW deserves at least Kek's B+ because he was the one player on the Wolves who looked like he was in a playoff game every minute he was out there.
