Don't take a bite outta Bite Bite...it's an 8-0 Conley run.

So I don’t think the wolves have played A+ fantastic but I also think the grizzlies are playing really good basketball tonight. Their ball movement has been amazingWildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 11:08 pmThis team is redeveloping a bad habit of playing with their food. The difference between Conley and Russell shows in this season.
Let's close this out so they have time to get ready for OKC.

We've also been letting at least one guy just have a night but at least it hasn't been compounded by someone else going off.
One guy getting 30+ is fine as long as he's alone.
For a game where we're gonna do a lot of criticizing about how they looked, somehow they may cover a 12 point spread on the 2nd half of a b2b.

But what do good teams do to bad teams? Toy with them for three quarters, and then blow them out in the 4th.

Abe's next-day DVR Review:
- The Timberwolves largely went through the motions until they realized they had to put the Grizzlies away. It can be frustrating to watch... but it's what good teams have done vs. the Timberwolves for the better part of three decades.
The Wolves picked up the intensity, Edwards realized that he was playing against borderline G-Leaguers, they got more physical... and won going away. Everyone leaves happy enough, even the bookies since the Wolves somehow even beat the spread.
- Need proof that the Wolves were toying with their food until they needed it? Check out Jaden McDaniels' defense vs. David Roddy in the 4th quarter. Obviously, McDaniels and many others realized time and score (and opponent) and were just waiting to put it together on the 2nd night of a road-home back-to-back. Good teams have games like this. They're simply good enough to get away with it.
- Jaren Jackson had shot a combined 10 - 40 in his previous two games. He was 15 - 23 in only 27 minutes last night. I've never seen him look bigger (both figuratively and literally) than last night. Another opposing big who went right at our big frontcourt. As good as Gobert obviously is defensively, it seems like any centers who are hesitant at all play right into his hands.
- How many games has Naz Reid hit a three pointer within his first 60 seconds on the court? He seems to have some big games on more profile games... which can only help his legendary status grow.
- Mike Conley vs. a team without a true PG.
17 points on 11 shots. 10 assists. 0 TOs. (a pro's pro)
- I don't feel bad for Memphis. But damn... that roster right now looks like so many old Timberwolves squads. Just a collection of misfit toys that will be thrown in the trash sooner than later.
