Ha, good point. Yeah, they play about as poised as anyone. Move the ball, no incessant complaining or histrionics. They are a pretty well-oiled machine out there.Crazysauce wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 9:34 pm Also remember when we were always told young teams need to learn how to win. Apparently that isn't relevant to the Thunder

True, but I put his poor shooting behind the turnovers as the reason we lost. I mean, you just can't cough it up like that possession after possession. All we need is average ball security and we're the best team in the NBA. Just be average!Jester1534 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 9:30 pm The old man hasn’t been the reason why we lose a lot of games but 1-11 from bite bite is just to hard to overcome

Man, tough finish for ANT.
We started poorly and finished poorly. Still, can’t help but think when we are clicking we will be tough to beat. Better getting these games under our belt now rather than later.

Tough loss, now down 2-1 against them this year. Not good. I feel like we have the more talented sum of the parts, but they just play so much more clinically on offense with their movement and crisp passing.

I completely agree with your take on the turnovers. The scary part of this team is there even another level for them to get to if they can correct this but I don’t think ant will grow up enough by the end of the year to take care of the turnovers.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 9:38 pmTrue, but I put his poor shooting behind the turnovers as the reason we lost. The phantom goal tend and phantom traveling call loom pretty large. Take those a way and we might survive all those turnovers.
And what the hell id KAT doing out there. He should be finding ways to get way more 3-pointers off.

Yeah, it's easier said than done, I agree. Ant has been an iso player probably from the day he first put on an AAU jersey. And he played with such inferior talent at UGA. I know they implore him to get to the cup and make the right pass, but his handles are still a little loose and his passing is off the mark sometimes. I don't think he even took basketball all that seriously until he was a teenager, so we need to give him time.Jester1534 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2024 9:43 pmI completely agree with your take on the turnovers. There was also a phantom trip and a phantom illegal screen. Terrible calls! I will say that they were pretty generous with KAT, who should have had at least two other offensive fouls called on him, but I'm not sure it made up for the bad calls that went against us.

I know you can't win every game you should, but I think we all felt pretty good in the 3rd quarter about our chances. We had a lot of opportunities to extend the lead above 10 points at the end of the 3rd/beginning of the 4th and couldn't. We really should have won this and the Celtics game. Frustrating even though we are 30-12.
Re: Thunder/Wolves GDT
Terrible start and finish by the Wolves starters cost us tonight. Conley shooting woes and Ant missed FT's certainly didn't help. But it was turnovers that once again killed us and cost us the game. 21 by the Wolves and only 8 by OKC. Huge discrepancy there and simply not good enough. Our offense still looks terribly clunky at times.
This loss could hurt us if it comes down to a tie breaker with OKC at the end of season.
