Also thanks for the insight on KAT and Rudy having to defend the perimeter and probably being exhausted in the 4th. I saw some video of Rudy completely locking down wings on the perimeter...it's amazing to me how quick he is with all that size.

Finchie said our performance was disgusting and immature. I didn't see the game. Whom in particular was he calling out, and for what behavior?
Hard to know exactly, but it felt like Ant was doing his "the coaches keep telling me to move the ball, so I'll show them and pass it off every single time!" mode. We've seen that from him a couple of times recently, so he wasn't doing it last night just because he was sick. Some of his passing was fine, but other times it felt like he treated it like a hot potato to spite the coaches.

While KAT was clearly having his way with Charlotte through three quarters, it did feel like he got carried away in the 4th, which led to some ill-advised drives/turnovers. Whether that stemmed from a me-first sentiment, i.e. "I could go for 70+, how neat is that!" or he legitimately was the best option to score given Ant's passivity is debatable. I'd have to re-watch the 4th quarter again.

Finch and the front office also have to admit that the Wolves are vulnerable to these smaller teams when they have hot shooting nights. It wasn't like Charlotte was just canning wide open 3 after wide open 3. They were making some tough-ass mid-range shots, but often would get just the slightest bit of separation from our relatively slow-footed defense.

I'm assuming Finch meant collectively with KAT/Edwards (the two main guys). I think there was like 3 assists in the 4th quarter:
JMac to KAT
SloMo to KAT
SloMo to NAW

But it looks like every time KAT touched the ball - he took the shot. That would fit right in with every pick up game I've ever played. But in the NBA, you have to move the ball to the open shooters.

Also, I'm sorry but McDaniels is basically invisible this year on offense. I know he plays good defense. But we just signed him to a $136M extension. That makes NAW's deal look really, really good to me.

Not that it matters, but the L2M report says KAT was fouled twice on that last drive and the refs failed to call either one.

We still deserved to lose that game. Hopefully the loss gets the players attention more so than if they managed to pull out a win.

This is also just the 2nd time the Wolves lost to someone under .500 (ATL, 2nd game of season).

What about the other top contenders?

BOS: 2
MIL: 4
OKC: 3
PHI: 4
DEN: 4

I also get that the way we loss is concerning but just for perspective

Also in that last 2 minute report for last night. 10 missed calls in the 2 minutes. That's crazy bad.

I didn't think the first grab was a foul but I missed the 2nd which obviously was a foul.

Last 2 minute report is insane. Usually they just pick like 1-2 egregious ones, but 10? And that many favoring hornets? Wolves deserved the loss, but it just sucks getting the dumpster franchise whistle still after all these years.

I think between the wolves/inconsistent nba whistle and kat making boneheaded plays, finch needs to have tactical awareness to tell KAT just not drive the ball for stretches of the game or only do it in a PNR/dribble handoff.

Also just continues to show the immense value of Conley. To the point where I think it’s not just going to take another pure pg to help fill the void when he sits - you need a vet who can have the influence he has and his demeanor moreso than just the playmaking and running of the offense.

Dang. The official steal the win from the Wolves, and turn around and gift a win to the Thunder. This little blip of slipping out of first place will forever be know as the Referee Blunder!
