Hard to know exactly, but it felt like Ant was doing his "the coaches keep telling me to move the ball, so I'll show them and pass it off every single time!" mode. We've seen that from him a couple of times recently, so he wasn't doing it last night just because he was sick. Some of his passing was fine, but other times it felt like he treated it like a hot potato to spite the coaches.FNG wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 10:06 am Good research guys...pretty clear Ant is not yet someone we can count on in the clutch.
Also thanks for the insight on KAT and Rudy having to defend the perimeter and probably being exhausted in the 4th. I saw some video of Rudy completely locking down wings on the perimeter...it's amazing to me how quick he is with all that size.
Finchie said our performance was disgusting and immature. I didn't see the game. Whom in particular was he calling out, and for what behavior?
While KAT was clearly having his way with Charlotte through three quarters, it did feel like he got carried away in the 4th, which led to some ill-advised drives/turnovers. Whether that stemmed from a me-first sentiment, i.e. "I could go for 70+, how neat is that!" or he legitimately was the best option to score given Ant's passivity is debatable. I'd have to re-watch the 4th quarter again.
Finch and the front office also have to admit that the Wolves are vulnerable to these smaller teams when they have hot shooting nights. It wasn't like Charlotte was just canning wide open 3 after wide open 3. They were making some tough-ass mid-range shots, but often would get just the slightest bit of separation from our relatively slow-footed defense.
