Let them keep sleeping, I prefer that over blowing smoke up our ass.

Meh.

It's a very young writer throwing stuff out to get clicks. He covers all sports, so his takes are not going to be deep. But that's not the point.

He puts out quite a few columns. He's simply building his resume for another (better) job in the industry. By copying and pasting articles like these elsewhere... he's being rewarded for what's a pretty ho-hum article that any second-rate blogger in 2008 would have been only half-heartedly excited about.

Yes. It's a bad take. But the writer couldn't care less about it.

There are very few sportswriters whose columns I take as gospel, but Criss (not Chris) Partee is one of them. His analysis is always 100% correct. I'm sorry to have to say this, guys, but this season is over...time to blow this team up and start the draft thread.

Here's an example of Partee's brilliance. The typical NBA rube like me will look at that Clippers game and focus on the fact that the Wolves won by 21 on the road. But Partee wisely instead points out the most important part of that game...that PG was able to cross over Ant in the 3rd quarter to pull the Clippers within 7 points. The ability to extract the true meaning within a game is an insight few have...I would say nobody here has it. But Partee is able to consistently do it, and he does it again here by pointing out this moment.

Side note. Watch the clip, and appreciate the announcer's creative math. As PG drives to the basket, the guy informs as that the lead is now 12...77-69  .

Ive already heard podcasts that would favor the Lakers and Warriors over the Wolves in the first round. The Wolves will be counted out by the rest of the world until they are actually out. I've accepted that and really want to see the Wolves disappoint the rest of the world.

True. That sums up most things media now though (it's all about the buzz/clicks). But regarding his take, I've read similar views on this site (basically alluding to the Wolves being Paper Tigers). I don't feel that way -especially based on our record against the top teams this year. But as davemang wrote - I'm actually more comfortable with a negative national view vs. being a favorite come playoff time.

At least that Utah team from a few years ago won a playoff series before losing to the Clippers in Round 2. I'm nervous as hell that we don't make it out of the first round. Not because I think we are paper tigers, but because the West is so damn deep that almost any team that ends up in the top 8 spots (after the play-in games) can be quite formidable if healthy.
