He's now 43.1 on the season and 53.3% in his last 10! With his career number even up to a league-average 35.5 %, I think it's time to suspend the "if only JMac could make 3's" narrative. I have to admit the high arc on his 3-point shot doesn't make me feel confident, but NAW's form also made me falsely conclude last season he wasn't going to be a good 3-point shooter. But they are both proving me wrong.
I’m going to disagree a little bit. 60% of all Jmac shots this year have been a wide open or open 3 pt attempt according to NBA.com by far the highest on the wolves. So what he is doing now is great because he is making teams pay for but guarding him however how much are we hurting in terms of spacing because they are not guarding him.

Hard to tell. But I’m not to call him an elite shooter when majority of his attempts are legit wide open 3s
True, he's not an elite 3-point shooter. But one of the things I like about JMac is that he never forces a three...he only takes them when he is wide open, otherwise he moves the ball. And it's nice to see him making them this season. KAT is another guy who generally doesn't force his threes, in fact I'd like him to take more. I contrast this habit with Ant, NAW and Jaden. Each of them will sometimes put up a three that I know right away isn't going to go in, and they generally don't. Those three guys are all very goods three-point shooters, but they could all improve their percentage if they were more selective like KAT, JMAc and Conley.

It depends on role though. You are right that JMac shoots the 3 in a role-appropriate manner. He's not out there to score points or put pressure on a defense, but to manage the game with minimal mistakes and to hit the wide open 3.

KAT shoots the 3 in a role-inappropriate manner, meaning he doesn't take enough of them (at least that's been the general trend - I know before he got hurt he was putting them up more).

Jaden and NAW I think also take the 3 in role-appropriate manner. We simply can't afford those guys passing up 3s that they can get off with their feet set, even if pretty well contested. The tradeoff might be a lower 3 pt%, but the alternative might be long 2's or contested 2's that have a lower eFG% than the contested 3. Same goes for Ant.
