TJ's 10-day contract would be up on the 15th. Our next game is on the 16th. It's been great to have a body on the floor that knows how to play. With KAT out for the foreseeable future, it's seems likely TJ will at least get another 10-day contract, and more likely signed for the remainder of the season.
Considering how ineffective Naz is at C, and also Rudy's rib injury (which we don't have an update on), doesn't it seem to wise to bring in another body who can take up some of those C minutes behind for or behind Rudy?
The Wolves have one more open roster spot and space under the luxury tax to bring in one more body at the vet minimum. And there are a bunch of names out there that might fit, although I have no idea what kind of shape or interest they would have. A quick glance at current FAs popped some of these names:
Marcus Morris - not really a C, but might give you something at C because he is tough.
Frank Kaminsky - you would get replace some of KAT's 3-point shooting.
Gorgui Dieng - not sure how much basketball he's played lately.
Robin Lopez - seems like not much left in the tank, but we don't need a lot.
A few other names: Meyers Leonard, Nerlens Noel, Montrezl Harrell, Willy Hernangomez, Willie Cauley-Stein, Dewayne Dedmon, Serge Ibaka, and others...

Yes - it certainly makes sense to add someone and fill out the roster now that we are down one KAT (not to mention Rudy's unknown).
Interesting list of names. Too bad we can get in the Hot Tub Time Machine and get the prime version of some of those guys. I'd just be worried we'd be signing the ghosts of centers past at this point. IDK.
This is where I start to get a little mad that we didn't see/develop any of: Garza, Minott, Miller this season. How great would it be if we had ANY confidence those guys could contribute? Now we gotta hit the scrap heap lotto.
Edit: Is Justin Jackson still technically on the roster?

Re: TJ Warren and ?
No, Justin Jackson's 10-day expired. I assume he went back to the Texas G-League team.

Re: TJ Warren and ?
I've done a full 180 on Marcus Morris.
I think he makes the most sense in the short term and heading into the playoffs. Can play the 3 or 4, shoot the 3 at a decent clip and defend a little. Capable rotation player.
Prefer him over TJ Warren, as has a bit more range on his shot and better all round game.

Re: TJ Warren and ?
While I am certainly open to Morris since he can play some small-ball 5, I would keep TJ Warren. He has done very little in terms of stats. But he just looks like a guy that is comfortable on the court with the rest of his teammates. He is not trying to do too much, and he is not hurting you. He's got a 10-day/4-game head start on learning the systems and developing a connections with his teammates and coaches. The Wolves are 2-2 with him, but he has had a plus player in ever game, including a larger + in wins than the margin of victory. He is doing something right. And he has a history of being able to contribute more than what he has thus far.KiwiMatt wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 2:03 pm I've done a full 180 on Marcus Morris.

Re: TJ Warren and ?
I think we have two roster spots. I’d use one of them on TJ Warren and the other on either Marcus Morris or Luka Garza. I would think the organization would want to fill both roster spots for the playoffs given the uncertainty surrounding KAT.
Re: TJ Warren and ?
Well, it won’t be Marcus Morris. He’s signing with the Cavs.
Re: TJ Warren and ?
Bummer. I wonder if KAT’s injury had anything to do with his decision. On the other hand, I have a hard time believing that he’d consider the Cavs a better bet than the Wolves to win a title. The Cavs will have to get past the Bucks and ultimately the best team in basketball, the Celtics. Well, we’d better sign TJ for the rest of the season and playoffs.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the reasoning is behind Marcus's decision.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 11:04 pmBummer. I wonder if KAT’s injury had anything to do with his decision. But I am pretty confident TJ Warren will be with us for the rest of the season and into the playoffs. The question remains on if we will add a 15th player...
