Rudy out again Pt2 vs Jazz
Re: Rudy out again Pt2 vs Jazz
Jaden, Conley, Ant shoot 3-18 from 3 and they win by 10 with no Kat, Rudy or Naz. So much culture
Re: Rudy out again Pt2 vs Jazz
This might be my favorite win of the year. Wolves dug deep and showed some grit. I know Jaden missed a lot of shots but he really got after it on loose balls and played so tough digging up 50/50 balls.
And damn Ant is good.
Also Nickiel seems to have unlocked something that could really tip the scales for this team in the playoffs.
Super fun and awesome game all around.

Broke his 18 straight 3s streak. Huge!!! Not even kidding I thinking that could be huge

I agree Phenom, mine too. We've got some real dogs on this team, led by Ant. Love that one stumbling feed he made to NAW for the corner dagger! He's breathing confidence into his team mates and they are going into the trenches with him.Phenom wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 10:19 pm This might be my favorite win of the year. One thing that has been a revelation is that Ant can legit play the 4 defensively. He's got 10 blocked shots over his last 6 games and has upped his rebounding too. It's something to keep in mind as we contemplate various playoff matchups with teams that can go small and try to space us out (Phoenix and Sacramento especially).

I agree with Jaden on that 3. I was worried it was becoming somewhat of a mental thing with his confidence. I am glad he got that last 3 to fall.
Re: Rudy out again Pt2 vs Jazz
Agreed. Ant can be a very good rebounder with his big body, strong hands and leaping ability. He has been getting some strong boards in traffic lately. It's a lot of fun watching him growQ-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 10:36 pmI agree Phenom, mine too. We've got some real dogs on this team, led by Ant. We're now 24-13 on the road. Only 4 road games left, so the worst we could go is 24-17. Amazing.

Caution: Old Man "Back in my day" alert ahead:
This one really pisses me off. What if it's game 7 of the Finals? My medical books tell me that the woman generally delivers the baby...the man's role happens nine months before. Yes, most of us would like to be present for the birth of our children, but we're paying Rudy $30 million a year to help win games...and missing a playoff game is much more significant than a regular season game. I was lucky to be present for both of my kids' births, but here's something I am 100% sure of...if something as critical as a playoff game was happening in my job, I wouldn't have told my boss "Nope, sorry...gotta help deliver the baby".
And why did he feel the need to say this out loud now? "Hey, guess what fans who spend way too much time following the Wolves? I'm not playing tonight, and I'm not even going to play in the playoffs if my baby mama is having a baby".
FU Rudy, and the croissant you rode in on.

A couple more thoughts about this fun win:
-Nice back to back gutty wins with both KAT and Rudy out. Our rebounding is pathetic with them both out (outrebounded by 19 in the 2 games!), but we still found a way to win.
-Another stellar game from JMac. It's fun to see the energy level pick up whenever he comes into the game. But Finchie's willingness to play him only when we are missing multiple players is a real head scratcher. Robson tweeted last night that he is going to ask Finchie if he knows opponents only score 99 points per 100 possessions when JMac is playing. Sure, he's small, but he is a pesky and elite defender. Finchie has played him a little more with Mike the past two games, and it has been effective.
-two very weird games for the Wolves with respect to turnovers. I think we had 7 in the first 10 minutes of both games, but only 1 more after that Saturday and only 2 more last night...bizarre!
Isn't it amazing the good things that happen when JMac comes into the game and when we protect the ball?

LST - I rare disagree with your posts. But I do in this instance. And it's not because I'm all offended or am going to tell a story about the birth of my own children. In fact, I don't have kids and generally dislike all little bastards.
But I am a family first guy. And I do believe a man has a right to be with their family if they are in the hospital. Nothing is more important to me than my loved ones. If someone close to me is in the hospital, I'm going to be there and the job can wait until I know they are ok. I realize not everyone is like that - and that's fine. But to be there for the birth of a kid...I don't think that's beyond the scope of reasonable requests. Yes, the woman should be just fine without him there. But certainly some people draw comfort from having their significant other present. And I think this is his first kid? IDK.
