Wolves/Nuggets GDT
Re: Wolves/Nuggets GDT
I didn’t watch the game and just logged on to see the result. Wow, what a huge win. If you had told me the Wolves were going to best Denver on the road with Ant going 0-8 from behind the arc and Naz going 2-12 from the field, I’d have call the men in white coats to take you away. From the box score it looks like the Wolves won this one with defense and that, once again, Rudy was the team’s rock. I’ll have to watch the replay tomorrow.

Holy crap! They actually beat the top dog on their home court. Now 8-3 since Towns went down and 10-3 for the season in games without Towns. I'm still of the opinion he's not going to be around for at least the 1st round, but it's looking more and more like we should be ok without him. (Although obviously adding an All Star for the later rounds would be a nice bonus).
Looks like I'll keep starting the GDTs too.

Yep, we won with defense, moving and protecting the ball (28 assists, 7 TOs...NONE in the first half when we put them away), and Conley's timely threes. But mostly defense. So many terrific performers, there's not time to nane them all. So I'm just going to mention one surprising guy. Naz Reid. On a night when his shot was off, he handled Jokic one on one most of the game, and did it effectively. I honestly didn't think Naz has a strong enough base to keep Jokic away from the basket, but he refused to get bullied tonight. Maybe Joker's wrist was bothering him more than we thought (Malone seems to think so), but for whatever reason, he was not a huge factor tonight in the first half when we essentially won the game. So Naz goes 2 for 12 and is a +14...kind of a Bizarro Naz game!
Huge win! Who's going to be at the game Sunday for the Boo Glen game? (I'm guessing he'll use the Easter excuse to not show up).

Carlos! Carlos! Carlos!
That's what the Wolves faithful should be chanting from the stands!

Re: Wolves/Nuggets GDT
As I mentioned in the game thread, I do not think that was the Denver Nuggets team we'd face in the playoffs (God willing we get deep enough to actually play them). They looked off. Between missing Murray and minimal resistance defensively by Jokic I just didn't feel like we were getting their best version. Of course we were missing KAT, but is there any doubt that Denver needs Murray more than we need KAT at this point??FNG wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 9:02 amDon't miss the replay, Lip...you're gonna like this one!Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 11:14 pm I didn’t watch the game and just logged on to see the result. That's not to take away from the Wolves' defense, which was incredible. It can't be easy as an opponent to start the game with the likes of Rudy and Jaden locking you up and then just when you think you get a break, here comes NAW, JMac, and SloMo off the bench. It was relentless.

Technically the Thunder could win the tiebreaker but it is super low probability.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 11:32 pmYep we got it over them tooBloopOracle wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 11:10 pmWhat about OKC? Re: Wolves/Nuggets GDT
If the Wolves beat Denver next game the Wolves have the tiebreaker over OKC, if they lose to Denver it goes down to conference record. If the Thunder win their final 3 conference games against Dallas, San Antonio, and Sacramento, I believe the Wolves would need to win 2 of their games against Houston, Lakers,Phoenix, and Phoenix to have the edge in the conference tie breaker, if we only win one of those games we would be tied in the first 4 tiebreakers and it would go to whoever has the highest winning percentage against teams eligible for the playoffs in conference.kekgeek wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 9:49 amTechnically the Thunder could win the tiebreaker but it is super low probability.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 11:32 pmYep we got it over them tooBloopOracle wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 11:10 pm
