it's like sports talk radio: nobody really calls or listens to your segments when the team is doing great.

Also: no real draft stuff to get into because we're so good, and short of KAT trade talks which is a bridge we'll cross when we get to it, the transactions won't be as plentiful, but I'd rather it be this way than doom & gloom.

I’m starting to look at draft prospects and realized that I miss KG’s posts here on the draft … he always did a great job with that.

Yeah, he was really into the draft. Cam was actually really good with draft prospects too. He wasn't always right about them, but he had a pretty good handle on it.

Back in the old days I used to be a lot more on top of draft prospects, but that's because we were always in the lottery so while the Wolves were doing all that losing, I was watching college games, reading the old Draft Express site (what a shame that Givony sold out to ESPN, but I get it....), and soaking up whatever I could on prospects.

1. I was out of the country for a spell the past couple of weeks.

2. As noted by others... how much gushing can we do? Personally, I think "social media" is one of the greatest social vices in decades. And we won't even know the true harm it causes for many more years. Part of that is because it's inherently easier to be critical of things than to praise them. Criticism also leads to more divisiveness and disagreements, which leads to more engagement... an obvious goal for many.

3. I'll try to step up my posting game.

[Note: D. Russell >>>> Andrew Wiggins and I pity any fool who disagrees with me.]

I just kind of needed a break. I actually do like reading and writing more about the team when it's doing well then it sucks. The rapport is more pleasant.

I think part of the board problem is the trades in Rudy and DLO that were in question have been proven to be the right moves. There was so much discourse in our chat about these moves and I highly doubt anyone would trade away this season even if it was first round knockout.

If we’re a play in team right now we have double the post on how we need to blow up the team because this isn’t working and need to build around Ant. But for once in our lives this team is working and doesn’t need to be changed.

Maaaaaaaannnn I was a lurker long before it was cool, Cool. When I first found the ESPN board (season before Rubio/Flynn draft) I had literally nobody to talk to about the Wolves in my everyday life. We were bad enough that none of my friends cared (It was all Vikings/Twins/Wild) and so I sought out online places to talk Wolves.

Even then, I lurked for a whole two years without a SINGLE post!!!! Everybody else would post things I wanted to say anyway, Abe, you, Q, Monster, Generic User, Phenom, Khan, RickysFan, Lip, Hockey, BigTen. etc etc etc

The only reason I started posting in the first place? Inevitably when the Wolves did nothing at the trade deadline, and none of the Hypothetical trade scenarios that were posted on the forum constantly came to fruition ("we trade all our crap for a semi-star!!!!), people stopped posting as much as well. There was this space in those dreaded years where the borderline insane trade proposals died out and the draft talk really didn't pick up steam quite yet.....where NOBODY posted. So, I started making GDT with weird titles, more as a gag for me.

It was fun. I don't remember the poster but I do remember one time the Wolves were so terrible that one GDT it was literally just me and him who posted over 100 times for the thread lol. So people disappeared back then as well...but I agree with the others, if there's no new blood coming in, hard to have the OG's carry the load. Hockey has been gone for years, I don't even remember him posting much after the ESPN board along with a handful of others (who else misses Mccants drunk rambling?).

Maybe post this thread elsewhere to bring new people in to get the flow going again? I know my life as I have gotten older since the old ESPN days has taken me away from even paying attention/watching the Wolves. Let alone posting here. Also I did predict years ago that if the Wolves ever got good most of the posts would disappear because we would have less to argue about, and here we are! That's not necessarily a bad thing. Now if the posts are low for the playoffs....uffda

Anyways, thanks for the post Cool! Still love the board 16 years later!

Sure would like to know why we hear so little from our friend Lip these days. Through all the iterations of this membership group, Lip was one of, if not the pillar that built this community. Now that we've finally arrived at the good old days, we're not getting the benefit of his unique perspective. Hope everything is okay for you buddy, would like to see you in the threads during this fun time.

I’ve been around since the ESPN days when I believed McCants would be a legit player and have bounced around just as this board has. But mostly just a causal fan nowadays who lurks on the GDT. There’s a lot less to talk about when the team is good. Which is sad when you think about it since this is the first time the team has been good since I originally become a fan 04 season but it’s the reality of things like this.

All I gotta say is Anthony fucking Edwards baby. What a STAR this kid is. Imagine what an even more unstoppable force he can become if he ever gets the whistle some of his fellow young guards such as SGA, Tatum, Booker get.
