Micah Nori to the Lakers

Book it. Especially if he continues to have success in the playoffs in a pseudo head coaching role.

It just makes too much sense. Two players the Lakers have to contend with in the West, Ant and Joker, have called him a genius. But perhaps more important in a city that values entertainment, Micah is entertaining. His "aw shucks" Ted Lasso humor would play well in LA. You gotta believe the Lakers brass is watching him closely this series...both on the court and post-game.

Would he take an offer? Well, it's not the most attractive open position given the Lakers' age and dysfunctional roster. But it would be a life-changing change in salary. The NBA doesn't disclose salaries, but I'm confident nobody makes $1 million. In contrast, the Lakers would pay him $3-5 million. Of course he would take it.

Chris Finch said Nori will be an excellent coach some day. I think it will be next season.

I think it comes down to whether LeBron picks the new coach, or the Lakers management does. If it's LeBron, it may very well be Redick. But I question whether LeBron will be allowed to make the choice. How many years, if any, do the Lakers expect or want LeBron on the roster? He hasn't made any commitments about next year, and the Bronny situation complicates things. I don't think it would be a prudent move to have a short timer pick the next coach. But we'll have to see what happens.

After seeing what Ham went thru why would a first time head coach want to expose himself to a lack of respect from veteran players and possible coaching suicide when they throw him under the bus. A place like Detroit would make more sense or join the Spurs knowing Pop is unlikely to see the rebuild to its culmination. Wemby would be a great player to start your coaching career with.

I also don't think a lateral move to the Spurs would be appealing to Nori. I agree with you that the LA job doesn't sound very attractive...except for one aspect: the money. If the Lakers throw $5 million at Nori, I don't think he turns it down. And who out there is more "Hollywood" than Micah Nori?

The Lakers just fired a guy who was a first time head coach. I think they will go to a proven commodity this time. Maybe coach Budenholzer.

I'm guessing Nori might be smarter than to take that Lakers job. I think it's reasonable to assume the Wolves will continue to have success and if so Nori will have various opportunities to get a head coaching gig if he wants one.
