30 out of 30 for next year speaks volumes for a franchise in flyover country. Could we run it back? I suppose but it appears we don't quite have the right mix anyway. I think it's possible for TC to reduce the payroll at the same time he improves the roster. I'm looking forward to him doing some reshaping to improve our shooting and maybe even get a bit younger.
Will they try to reduce payroll no matter what? Sure. Do I think they can improve the roster in spite of TC's drafting? No.

They're entering next season with 6 guys Finch is never gonna wanna play (Miller, Minott, #27, #37, Clark, Moore-- if he's still on the team)
...still amazed that this team seems incapable of drafting and developing a pure shooter, which can be had with later picks. With seemingly every pick we've made of late, their success always seems to depend on developing a reliable 3-ball, which almost always ends up not happening. How about we draft someone with a pure stroke and then try to develop their other areas for once!?

or we draft a guy who supposedly can shoot and then when they're here they forget how to do it.

Heh, yes, that too! Jaylen Nowell is the latest example of that.

I will say that Naz, Jaden and Ant sort of helped break the curse of guys that didn't shoot great in college, but improved with the Wolves (I'm not counting KAT because Calipari wouldn't let him shoot - I think he would have been an elite college shooter had Cal let him).

But when can we get our version of Isaiah Joe (2nd rounder), Payton Pritchard (26th pick), or Grayson Allen (21st pick)? Guys on playoff-caliber teams that just HAVE to be guarded on the perimeter or they will torch you.

For a team with such a massive payroll, we sure have a lot of needs! That's what happens when you whiff on a bunch of cheap draft picks (Moore Jr., Minott, Spagnola and Miller). You aren't going to hit on all of them, but none of them have panned out so far.

Much of this thread will center on KAT, as it should as he has been horrible in the Dallas series. But there is a lot of evidence to refute the narrative that he is a bad playoff performer. He was instrumental in getting us to the West finals by his 2-way play in the first two series. And I would even argue that his career offensive playoff performance before this disastrous series has been good...19/11 on 38.3% 3-point shooting. That is plenty good for a second fiddle offensive player on a team with an elite defense. The problem is the past 3 games have been a train wreck. I think how KAT performs in the remaining game(s) this playoffs will have a lot to do with TC's decisions this summer.

I think the team surpassed our expectations, is very tight in terms of how well they get along, and back each other up when any of them falters. I think that’ll be true for KAT’s performance in this series, as well. ANT is the future of this team and my all accounts loves Finch and KAT so I don’t think either of them are in danger. Maybe Rudy, but I think they all see what a healthy focused Rudy can do for this team on a nightly basis, so I don’t expect him to be shopped either.

This offseason, I expect the important questions to be things like can they resign Kyle, can they find a long term replacement for Conley, can they find playing time for Minott or Miller, what does Jaden need to continue the trajectory he’s on.

We have to bet on Jaden's offense no matter what. It's time for him to get a few plays a game ran for him, and I want him to borderline force things at times during the regular season.

I think we need a PG long term. Anyway we can flip either of our bigs into a pg of the future is a smart move for this franchise. I loved this season, but the finances and the roster are really good but not great.

I think up to this point, Connelly has ignored long term PG because he figures Ant will turn into his own Luka and dominate possessions all the time.

Now PG looks ridiculously weak in terms of prospects going forward. One of his draft picks better be earmarked for PG.
