Oh I remember really liking him in the tourney. Assuming all the off court issues are behind him I'm really liking that pick even though I like Schierman.

We added enough offense. Time to go defense. N'Faly at 37 is my choice.

No doubt about that. He’s strong, athletic and aggressive.

Was acquitted in June after he testified in court. Usually the steals in draft happen cause off the court stuff. God forbid back in the day Randy Moss smoked Weed .

Welp, there goes the Scheierman dream, although I doubt we would have gone with a wing again...

Was those guys size the reason they didn't advance or the teams they were on?

One thing interesting about this trade up for Dillingham is that the Wolves have at times seemingly been more interested in size and positional versatility with size. So for them to trade up and take a guard like this is a little bit surprising but also a positive as they aren't against taking a player they think is good regardless of a guy being smaller.
Conley gets targeted late in the playoffs. Trae Young has been targeted since he played in the summer league, lol! I can't say that's the reason their teams didn't make the Finals, but their defensive vulnerability is a factor.

I just can't remember in recent history a team where the starting PG was (somewhat) short AND slight. Lowry with Toronto was short, but built like a tank and a dog defensively. Murray, Curry, Irving....none of those guys are or were great defenders, but they built their frames up and have enough physicality to at least compete at that end.

IDK...Billingham is still a young dude. Hopefully he can put on more muscle.

(BTW, is that Andrew McCarthy they keep showing on the ESPN feed?).
Curry was pretty slight coming out of college and...he wasn't a 19 year old college freshman. I think I read an article that coach Cal said Dillingham had put on weight like around 20 lbs coming into college. With Curry it wasn't just about adding weight but it was getting stronger especially his base. His ankles were a legit worry and he found what he needed to do to stay healthy and end up being a pretty strong guy for his size and it likely helped his offense as well. Obviously that's more of an outlier but yeah.
Yes, Curry was slight coming out of college, but still bigger than what Dillingham is now. And if he's already put on 20 lbs., may be it'll be tougher to put on the next 20, which is about how much more weight he needs!

IDK...hate to be so nit-picky about a guy so damn talented, but if we think he's the future starting PG for a Finals type team, I'm just not there yet. Offensively, there is no question he has a ton of potential.

Yeah it seems that stuff is all behind him but I think a qualifier is reasonable tonight but I'm looking forward now. This pick is a classic Connelly move taking a guy that dropped and he just scooped him up.

But who else plays SF on the Wolves?? I know Ant can slide down when he's playing with NAW and one of the PGs, but we really don't have a sweet-shooting wing on this roster. And SloMo is better at PF, so he was out of position when he came in for Jaden.

Imagine being able to trade your first round pick 7 years down the road for a top 10 pick every year. I'd be down with that.
