Team USA vs Serbia GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

Welp, Steve Kerr and his lame starting lineup is off to a terrible start.

They need to settle down.

ANT enters the game and immediately makes a great defensive play to start a LeBron breakaway for USA's first lead of the game.

Of course, as I type this we are down 5 with Jokic going to the line...

KD and ANT with back-to-back 3's to tie it up. Pretty cool given the connection between the two!

KD was awesome in his stint, leading to a 10 point lead. Lets see what happens as he takes a break...

Great game so far.

KD is out of his fucking mind right now. Unstoppable. Dude is 8 for 8 with 21 points, including a tough fadeaway to beat the buzzer at the half.

Ant has been really good, especially on defense. Kerr is basically playing him like Andre Iguodala in his prime (if Andre could have hit pull-up threes). Defending at the point of attack while also protecting the paint, and also doing a bit of everything on the offensive end. Great to see.

Embiid getting booed every time he touches the ball, presumably because he opted not to play for France when he could have done so.

Watching this game with my son has been interesting. On one hand, it's kind of nostalgic that the LeBron-Curry-KD era will end. On the other hand, they're making it clear they don't plan on ending it soon. Unprompted, my kid has said they look like the three best players on the court, and it's arguably true. All are playing great. Really impressive to see from 3 "old" guys, and a reminder that greatness doesn't always fade early.

Having a blast watch in this game, watching Ant and Durant take turns getting buckets in the first half was something else!

Love the pace of the Fiba games. Hardly any stoppages.
