Both teams are 2nd apron teams. Even if they wanted to make that deal, it's financially impossible.

A deal needed to happen before the new NBA year started. It would now need to be a one for one swap for the exact same dollar amount. I don't even think there is a scenario in which more teams in the trade could make it work.

Both teams are in the second apron. Meaning both can’t combine salaries in a trade. Both teams also can’t acquire more salary in a trade.

Then in November could theoretically trade Randle or Jaden with DDV and other young pieces like Miller, Garza, Shannon or Minott to make the money work


But like I said it’s impossible. They would need to straight dumb Naz or Jaden now. And then wait until November to use Randle or DDV or both salary.
