Someone’s gotta go…
By the name you can assume I have been following this forum for a bit, espn days. First time I’ve decided to actually ask a question because I haven’t seen it asked yet but….we are over the allowed roster size to start the season now aren’t we? And if Randle is too tough to move in the current CBA…then who is most likely out? We can’t package and the young guys contracts aren’t gonna get us under the apron…now that the dust has settled a bit what’s you guys best guesses to get us to 15 roster spots now?
Re: Someone’s gotta go…
Glad you’ve joined in. Keep it up. I think we’re at 15 guaranteed roster spots now after the trade. So we don’t need to shed a player now. At least that’s my understanding but I might be missing something.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 5:09 pm By the name you can assume I have been following this forum for a bit, espn days. Welcome!
You are correct that somebody has to go, and considering how they like to keep an open roster spot, maybe they somehow get rid of two players!
From a mere waiving standpoint, PJ Dozier is the obvious choice. He is on a vet minimum contract that is only guaranteed thru mid-January, so the cost would be less than half of the vet minimum (although there will be luxury taxes on whatever that amount is).
The KAT trade has not gone though, yet, so maybe they are able to offload Dozier or somebody to Charlotte as part of the trade. I kind of doubt that happens, but we should find out in a few days.
The other thought is to find someone willing to trade a second rounder for one of our players, such as Dozier or KBD. The deadline is on October 23rd.

Forgot about Dozier.

I kinda forgot about the KBD homecoming! I'd guess they would rather keep Dozier but adding Donte he is needed less and the Wolves could maybe use a combo forward since after McDaniel and Ingles Minott is maybe the next guy up.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 5:28 pm60WinTim wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 5:26 pm Welcome!

Don't sleep on Miller, Monster. Don't sleep on Miller.Monster wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:08 pmI kinda forgot about the KBD homecoming! Re: Someone’s gotta go…
Miller simply isn't a SF. Besides Finch mentioned Minott multiple times in his chat with Brit.60WinTim wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 10:11 pmDon't sleep on Miller, Monster. Don't sleep on Miller.

Re: Someone’s gotta go…
It will probably have to be the more valuable piece if we are making a move out of necessity, Miller still has more potential imo than Minott and it is silly to waste potential and watch it turn into mediocrity on the bench. Capitalize, that’s the cold move that TC would make.
