I agree that KAT will carry more weight, but similar to his situation in Minnesota the last couple of years, he does have help. Brunson has emerged as a legit star and will carry a huge offensive load. Mikal Bridges has turned himself into a legit scoring threat. And then you've got some really gritty role players as well that will really help defensively. Also, let's face it, the East is an easier gig during the regular season. I think it's the playoffs where KAT could melt in the bright lights.Porckchop wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 1:19 am Towns has never sucked, but I think as the number one pick he never took that big leap after his rookie season even without the pressure and distractions that come with playing in a big market City. Randle however took his share of scrutiny under the bright lights in LA and New York and has improved as a player. Which of these two players are heading into situations they are well equipped to handle and who is expected to carry more of theirs team’s weight of expectations?
Randle sucks

One thing that might help is Towns not being the #1 overall pick and the responsibility of the franchise on his shoulders here. Yes that had passed to Edward's but it seemed clear to me that Towns put a lot on himself and while I think he had let go of some of that with Edward's emerging (and being cool with it as well) moving to another team might be a fresh start and might allow him to just play a bit more.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 9:19 amI agree that KAT will carry more weight, but similar to his situation in Minnesota the last couple of years, he does have help. Meanwhile Randle comes here having played for 3 other franchises never was considered the top guy and like it was said has had a successful career in the bright lights. He played a couple seasons with Kobe and Ron Artest in LA. He has spent years in NY. He is probably gonna love it here with a fan base hungry and ready to go but stuff is gonna be way more chill than LA and NY abs he doesn't seem like a guy interested in bright lights. What he brings and the role he may be willing to accept here might be excellent for the franchise. I could see him being a guy that forwards the culture the Wolves have while not taking away from the good things Towns did as a great guy and great teammate.
Ultimately I could see this deal being good for both players. I hope so both for the Wolves and Towns. He never took that super star step and may never do so but he is still an excellent player that will probably be in HOF.
