Everyone else who played didn’t make enough impact in the last 7 minutes either way. Think it’s noteworthy miller was the last guy who got into the game and Dozier and KBD did not play.
Kekgeek preseason grades G3 vs Knicks
Re: Kekgeek preseason grades G3 vs Knicks
I'm lovin' the DiVo/ANT backcourt. I imagine the norm will be Conley/ANT to start the game with DiVo subbing in for Conley about halfway thru the first quarter.
All sorts of options for a closing lineup, of which most all of them will include DiVo and ANT.

Depending on matchups I could see Connelly Ant and DiVo all on the floor at the end of a game.

This was a fun game to watch. It was definitely a game with some real intensity.kekgeek wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 7:44 pm Ant: A-

Donte I thought was a good player but one thing I wasn't sure about was his ball handling and ability to do more than just move the ball. So far he looks like he is more of a combo guard and can get a bucket here and there aside from being a 3 point shooter. I thought he had some of that game but so far he has shown a bit more than I was expecting.
Of the guys that played later in the game I liked what I saw from Clark. This preseason Nix hasn't looked like anything more than a tryout guy but it's not like he has played a ton either I agree it's interesting that Dozier or KBD didn't play. I wonder if they will try and offload KBD's contract with a random 2nd.

Seems odd they wouldn't have dumped KBD onto Charlotte as part of the trade if they didn't want him here.Monster wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 1:13 pmThis was a fun game to watch. It was definitely a game with some real intensity.kekgeek wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 7:44 pm Ant: A-

Can we bump Dante up to an A+ for talking shit?
Re: Kekgeek preseason grades G3 vs Knicks
I thought at first it would be NAW coming in for Conley and DDV for McDaniels, with Ant then sliding to the 3. But given NAW's on going struggles, now I am wondering if DDV is the first off the bench for Conley, followed by Reid and then NAW.
Re: Kekgeek preseason grades G3 vs Knicks
It seems like NAW started losing some confidence during the playoffs, and it has persisted through the summer and pre-season. I also thought he would be coming in for Conley, with DiVo the first wing off the bench, but I'm leaning in the same direction as you are, Q. My initial thoughts about DiVo were that he wasn't PG material based on how he was used in NY. He's always seemed like a guy who likes to move without the ball and isn't as comfortable with the ball in his hands. But now I think that was only because he was playing next to a ball-dominant PG in Brunson. I hope NAW gets his confidence back, because he is still a big part of our league-best defense...nobody slips through screens as well as he does. But right now, DiVo looks like he'll be our first guy off the bench.
Re: Kekgeek preseason grades G3 vs Knicks
And deservedly so. DDV has trended in the opposite direction of NAW. He started really heating up as the year wore on last season and then became the Knicks second leading scorer in their playoff run. It appears he has carried that into camp and the pre-season with the Wolves.FNG wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 9:45 pmIt seems like NAW started losing some confidence during the playoffs, and it has persisted through the summer and pre-season. He is a different player now than he was just a couple years ago with Golden State. Kerr and Curry must have sprinkled some magic dust on him because he was a decent bench guard before the Knicks, but now he's one of the best in the business and could probably start for a lot of teams.

Playoffs: 29%
Olympics: 0%
Preseason: 18
Still a small sample size in mostly exhibition formats but it’s concerning. We have to remember NAW was on the path to being out of the league before traded to the wolves. Was last year just an outlier? I hope not but his role and opportunity is going to shrink this year theoretically
