Just waiting for something of substance to discuss. Maybe I’ll start another KAT v Rudy trade thread.
Summer league should provide some meaty topics for us. And like you, i still think we need to add a point guard in FA. There are some guys out there who could definitely fill the bill.
Almost unrealistic but the longer Tyus is on the market the more I believe he is coming here on a min. Haha
I wonder if his value tanked along with the fate of the Wizards. Tyus is one of these guys that is really good when surrounded by talent. Memphis hardly skipped a beat whenever he started for them in place of Morant. But ship him to a poorly run franchise and put too much on his plate and he's just not a guy that can fill up the stat sheet and win games on his own.
But we digress from the more important topic at hand!

I think it's the opposite I think Tyus is trying to get paid. Tyus had the most efficient season of his career despite playing for a really bad team. He also assisted at a career high rate while still barely turning the ball over.
The problem is who has money left that needs a PG that's also not a crappy team? It didn't help that there were a fair amount of top backup fringe starter type PGs available and some of them signed for the vet min. Still I'd bet my prized Darko Timberwolves Jersey on Tyus not taking the Vet min.
Reviving this thread since we have definitely seen one of these two guys make a big step forward since some of the disillusionment expressed on this thread last season (especially by yours truly!).
I don't know if Minott can keep it up, but his pre-season play has generally been against quality competition and for meaningful minutes. He is so far backing up whatever improvement he showed the coaches over the summer. If this trajectory continues, he may be one of the best development stories in Wolves history. Keep in mind he is entering his third season with the Wolves with minimal results to show in his first two years, including his middling Iowa stints.
As for Miller, I guess we shouldn't write him off considering how things appear to be clicking with Minott in Year 3. But it's clear based on where he falls in the pre-season rotation that he is still a deep bench player in Finch's mind.

Yeah I think Minott looks more ready to play and he looks more confident too.
One issue with Miller is that while I don’t see him currently as a center if they were going to play him as a bigger guy if needed I see no reason why he would play any minutes over Garza who has taken another step in his physical transformation and to me is better on both ends of the court than Miller right now which isn’t a knock on smiler it’s more about the way Garza has worked himself to this point. If they needed a more mobile bigger guy as a forward they may as well play Minott or some other wing or even Ingles over Miller. I still like Miller and think he could be a nice player moving forward I just think there are other players ahead of him now. Like you said maybe he makes a jump in a few months like it seems Minott has. It could even happen sooner but hopefully the Wolves stay healthy.
