He's doing the opposite of what I thought he'd do which was go 10 or may be even 11 deep. He's basically going 8.5 deep with Ingles getting a brief 1st half stint as the 9th man.

At his post-game presser last night he said something to this effect (not a direct quote): "I've got a lot of good players and they need to learn how to play with each other." Then he added that he'd like to extend Ingles minutes a bit more and may be add a 10th man.

So until someone gets hurt, we ain't seeing Dillingham, Garza or Minott unless it's garbage time.
I said this during camp. Rob might as well just go to Iowa and develop chemistry with Shannon, Miller, and Clark

He's been stuck on a short rotation since he got a taste of consistent winning and doesn't wanna deviate unless he's up or down 30.

I'm ok trying to get 3 new players acclimated with the top 9...Finch needs to figure out how these guys can work together and how to position them...some go to scores, etc... then he can play with the edges.

The Minot thing bothers me, but Dilly isn't even close and Shannon needs to learn how to play off the ball
Only thing I want Finch to do is reward good play or practice with minutes when someone's having an off night. Depth means not needing to sit through an awful night by McDaniels when he's having one hoping he rights the ship. Depth is seeing Alexander-Walker miss most of his shots and realizing, he's part of my bench as are others. Let me try others. Wanna shorten the rotation for the playoffs? Awesome. Not in October!

You were right about Dillingham, although Finch did go 10 deep regularly at the start of last season.

Steve Kerr is trying to go with a 12-man rotation, and the box scores look terrible...NBA players don't like playing 2 6-minute stints in a game because they never get their rhythm, but that's what several Warriors are getting with Kerr trying to feed 12 mouths. I like Finchie's approach better. Our young guys are learning the NBA game from the best seats in the house (look what it did for Chet Holmgren as he sat out his first year), and they will get their chance when inevitable injuries occur or on nights off for rest.

The Wolves have two back to backs coming in the next two weeks, and I think there will be some vets getting a night off. Conley might sit in one of the BTB games, and Rob could get 8-10 minutes off the bench at PG. And Rudy also might be given a night off, leaving an opening for Garza to get some minutes. Their time will come.

Adding DDV to the roster really knocked down the chances for a few guys to get any kind of regular minutes. So far in 3 games NAW has been pretty good so he has deserved his minutes. Dillingham has a number of players in front of him right now. I don't think that's a bad thing.

Ingles is more of a connector on offense so that's probably partly why Finch is playing him over Minott at this time. I'd imagine at some point they will rest Ingles on a back to back and get Minott in for a few minutes. I see Minott as a guy that's kinda the next man up unless it's Gobert or Conley not playing.

Im ready for Rob. What is the point of this season if were not looking to keep Conley fresh and develop a replacement plan?

Shouldn’t the 8th overall pick be able to crack a spot in the rotation considering the team only has one other true pg?

Rob is going to be fine, so I don't think the Wolves shat the bed. And yes, you would think the 8th pick could crack a rotation. But usually the 8th overall pick joins a lottery team that needs its draft pick to play right away. In this case Rob joined a team with arguably the best bench in the association. DiVo isn't shooting well, but he is showing me that he can play like a true PG...6 assists and only 1 TO last night...giving Rob some of Divo's minutes doesn't improve our chances of winning. Rob might be starting now if he had been drafted by a lottery team, but I agree with Finchie that his game isn't developed enough yet to take minutes away from a very good 8-man rotation.

Agreed New Guy....we are a team that needs to figure out how to defend as a team because we haven't played together and putting Dilly out there (who needs a lot of work on defense) won't help the team...let's fix the first 8 and play Minott if necessary (because he's been in the system longer). For back to backs we can get through top 11-12.
Once the 8 learn to play together we can bring in the others. Dilly is really week defensively...can you imagine him on the court vs the Mavs?

Yeah, as much as I'm excited about Rob's future, it would have been painful to see him matched up against Kyrie last night.

Having said that, I have a hunch Conley might get a day off Saturday against the Spurs after playing the previous night. I'd like to see Rob get his feet wet with maybe 8 minutes backing up DiVo and NAW.
