Here comes the Suns...Wolves/PHX GDT

Post by FNG »

We righted the ship in Sac-Town two days ago...barely. Now we have a chance to build on that success by beating a team we had some head-scratching results against last season...losing every regular season game, and then sweeping them in the playoffs. We exploited their lack of a true PG in the playoffs, and they responded by going out and getting two pass-first PG's in the offseason. And the results have been as good as expected...winning 8 of their first 9 games. Tyus Jones has his customary terrific assist to turnover ratio (5.8) and Monte Morris is even better at 6.5. That's just what a team with sharpshooters like Durant and Beal needed to turn their fortunes arou...wait, what did you say? Durant and Beal are out today? And Allen and Nurkic are game day decisions? Well, that changes things.

Yes, the Suns fortunes have changed since the injury bug hit them, losing 3 out of their last 4. They have lost their past two games by a combined 40 points, and last game started Josh Okogie and something called Ryan Dunn. Meanwhile the Wolves continue to have terrific health...nobody is on the injury list today. Obviously this is a game we should win, and Vegas has us as a 7 1/2 point favorite. But that hasn't worked out well for us in the past week when we were big favorites in games that we were big favorites with opponents missing key players. I worry again about Ant for two reasons. One, he doesn't always seem ready to play in afternoon games. And two, his post-game comments after the second Portland loss were that it was difficult to get up for subpar teams. Undermanned teams usually play hard, and if we don't, there will be a lot of despair on this board. We need to win this one and the next one in Toronto, because the schedule gets a lot harder after that.

I remain hopeful that team chemistry will eventually work itself out and they will start putting win streaks together like they did last year. But one win at Sacramento doesn't mean we are there. I just want to see our chemistry develop while also getting some wins under our belts.

I am not in a position to record the Vikings game, so I will be watching the Wolves game delayed...

I'm also an out of towner, Tim, so I only watch national Vikings games. But I had fun last week taking a long walk and listening to the Vikings game live on IHeart radio (it's free!). My honey and I like to watch Wolves games at night so we'll be recording and watching later.

And I agree with you...the win over the Kings didn't show me enough, other than Ant showing some late game promise when we most needed him. It was an enormously entertaining game, but not satisfying enough for most Wolves fans given they blew a 20 point lead. A wire to wire decisive victory today would make a lot of us feel much better.

Turned on the game for first time since I said I was taking a break.

7-0 suns run with a Allen/Dunn/oneal/morris/plumlee lineup. Against the Naz and Randle lineup.

I’m done again

I just flipped it on and saw that, too. Followed by an 8-0 run by the new guys!

You should stay away…. ;)

Jaden is not the same player this year. No one cares if he is guarding him. Not a threat on either side of the ball.

Wolves about to move to 1-4 in their last 5 and a top 2 scorer from their opponents has been missing each game and the wolves are fully healthy

Yeah this team is average at best and it starts with our perimeter D.
