Iowa Wolves are on NBATV right now. They are down 12-3, having trouble hitting 3s and bunnies.
Clark’s defense looks very NAW-like.

Re: Stockton at Iowa GDT
Down 3 at the half, Iowa storms back to go up 10 late in the 3rd, but then gives back 5 points in the final minute. So Wolves up 5 to start the 4th.
Solid quarter from Miller. He could be a contributor in the NBA in a year or two. Clark looks great defensively, but is a mess on the offensive end. As Q has mentioned, Keels is an all around good player, but does he have the physical attributes to make it at the next level? With the headband, he looks like Dort to me! And Ellis with his hair and jitterbug moves reminds me of Dillingham.
Nix does some good things and some bad things. I’m not a big fan of his game. But also as Q mentioned, no one has shown as much improvement as Jesse Edwards. I don’t know if he ever makes it to the next level, but he might see some minutes with the big club should Rudy miss any time.
As a I type this, Iowa is just dominating the 4th!

The defense has been fantastic in the 4th quarter. Jesse Edwards is beasting in the 4th quarter.
Re: Stockton at Iowa GDT
I missed this one, but they beat a good 10-5 Stockton team to make it to the Final Four of the Showcase Cup tournament.
Yeah, Jesse Edwards appears to be progressing well. He certainly has the length to play Center in the NBA and his fundamentals are good in terms of screen setting, walling up at the rim, and knowing how to maneuver in pick and roll. He's basically a very poor man's Rudy. Just not sure about his strength and balance - seems easily knocked out of position with a high base and fairly light frame. But may be he keeps filling out...
I see that Clark, despite the poor shooting performance, led the team with a +21. That is not just random, as he leads the team in Net Rating on the season. His defense is THAT good that even when his shot isn't falling, he can really blow up an opposing offense almost single-handedly.
Lenny Miller with yet another impressive offensive performance. I believe that given his (young) age and G-League body of work, his value is rising, either as someone that can play backup 4 for the Wolves eventually or be used as a trade asset.

Love these reports on our young guys at Iowa. Have to give TC a lot of credit for adding talent like Minott, Miller, Clark, Jesse Edwards and Nix to the organization with minimal draft capital to work with. Add Dilly and TSJ to the list and that’s why I believe the Wolves can successfully pivot to a successful Wolves 2.0 around Ant and Jaden.
Re: Stockton at Iowa GDT
That's exactly right. Despite the trade that sent all those first rounders out for Rudy, we actually have a decent pipeline of talent in the organization.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 4:08 pm Love these reports on our young guys at Iowa. Guys under 23 and/or with less than two seasons of professional experience:
Rob Dillingham - 19 yo, rookie
Leonard Miller - 21 yo
Josh Minott - 22 yo
Daishen Nix - 22 yo
Jaylen Clark - 23 yo
Terrence Shannon Jr. - 24 yo, rookie
Jesse Edwards - 24 yo, rookie

The Iowa Wolves are back in action today against Sioux Falls at 1pm CST, and it will be on NBATV.
Re: Stockton at Iowa GDT
We are not looking like the better team. It doesn’t help that Edwards might be out after taking a knee to jewels.
The difference has been Nassir Little. He has looked like a man playing among boys.

Jesse is back in to start the 2nd half. Maybe it was just foul trouble…
