It's telling that DDV, Naz, and NAW all played more minutes than three of our starters. I get that a lot of teams often have one of their better players come off the bench as a 6th man, often subbing for a defensive specialist or role playing starter, but it's kind of ridiculous when arguably we have up to three bench guys (NAW, DDV, and Naz) that might deserve to start. It's almost as if we just need to cross our fingers that the starting unit can survive just long enough for the bench unit to help get us some separation. There is something wrong with that.

Yes, Naz and NAW should be upgraded. Naz was a +14 with 14 points on 50% shooting. And as mentioned, he got the rally started. A D+ is way too low for him. I’d give him a B-. I’d upgrade NAW to a B+. I agree completely on all the other grades from kek.FNG wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 9:53 pm

And maybe we should be giving Finchie a low grade too...maybe a D. Minott has really provided a spark in the past two games...a +12 in his too short 11 minutes. What did Finchie see in those short first half stints that told him Josh shouldn't play in the second half? Was Jaden's 1 for 6 shooting better than what Minott could have given us? Maybe we don't need Ant's heroics if Josh gets another 5 minutes in a 3rd quarter that Houston won 32-19.
And Kyle Thiege and Dane Moore were just talking about how much fun a lineup of Ju and four bench players is, and we saw it last night in the first 6 minutes of the second quarter...lots of energy and a 23-17 result. And while the sample size if small, Ju and the bench has an ORtg of 137 and a DRtg of 104 in the sparse 32 minutes they have played together. But despite this, Finchie never played them again last night. As much as we all don't often enjoy Ju in the halfcourt, he loves to push the ball when he's out there with NAW, DiVo, Josh and Naz. And Rob might be a nice addition to the group too. Come on Finchie...let's have some fun!
