Nahhh…. This is all part of the ASCENT! We just tripped out of the gate against Detroit.

Kind of the definition of a .500-ish team. Reminds me of two seasons ago when we had a hard time incorporating Rudy and things were just kinda up and down all year.BloopOracle wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 8:11 pm The opposite day season continues, when I think we're turning the season around we fall apart. Great team game

Clark’s first minutes!

Solid win. Now we just need the Pistons to beat the Warriors and it will be double victories today!

This was a very nice win. Our Wolves looked a lot like last season’s team. I still want more offense but what we saw tonight was the sort of smothering defense that got us the third best record in the West last season.

The biggest takeaway from this game is Ant driving the hoop with some ferocity that we have not seen in a few weeks. Yes the poster dunk is all over the web, but Ant not settling for long jumpers is going to help the most. He will start getting foul calls and more free throws, and hopefully free up the drive and kick against teams that pack the lane. His gravity and confidence in McDaniels should help Jaden's confidence.

So true, D'. Ant has been terrific since his "nothing I can do" speech...53 points followed by 3 wins all of which he played well in. Obviously his shooting is unbelievable. But he's also making quicker decisions when the ball gets to him...either shooting if he's open (or ducking behind Rudy for a 3), driving if the opportunity is there, or making the right pass. His "find" of Rudy for a dunk was terrific. I still have a problem with his passing...too often his passes are delivered at the knees rather than chest high. But there's no disputing that he has been playing at a high level the past 4 games.DNatagal wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 7:22 am The biggest takeaway from this game is Ant driving the hoop with some ferocity that we have not seen in a few weeks. After finishing the Clippers the game with a great run to close it out... Edwards has been an incredibly fast starter... and slow finisher this week against the dregs of the league.DNatagal wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 7:22 am The biggest takeaway from this game is Ant driving the hoop with some ferocity that we have not seen in a few weeks. New Orleans: 5 - 5 fg to start (4-4 on three pointers). 5 - 16 fg to finish.
Orlando: 3 - 3 to start (3-3 on three pointers). 2 - 16 fg (1 - 8 on threes) to finish.
To be fair, I don't think either of those games were ever in doubt, especially after those amazing starts from Edwards. And maybe that played a role in it?
By the way, Edwards was 1 - 8 inside the arc last night. A couple of those drives would probably have ended with trips to the line for other players around the league. Hopefully,, he's not deterred and continues to balance out his game with a few drives. And hopefully, he works on how to grift foul calls before next season.
