Any chance that Sacramento would trade Fox (and Lyles to make money work) for Gobert and picks that we have left?
I could be wrong but I don’t believe you can trade a guy whose extension has not kicked in yet. Meaning Rudy could not be traded this season.
Also wolves don’t have tradable assets. Pistons 1st is the only pick the wolves can trade at this second
Were getting some national attention!!! This is a pretty telling conversation suggesting Randle is on the way out. It even comes with some trade proposals. I had not read the Jonny K bit on Randle's demeanor in the Golden State game.

Listened to that podcast yesterday. Not a great look.
Things seem to be coming to a head now. At some point, the Timberwolves probably need to cut bait on contending with this squad. It's not going to happen. Fix what's obviously broken and regroup.
As noted in the other thread, Diviencenzo is injured... after playing his best ball of the season recently.
And as noted by Q and others... everything the Timberwolves do should involve putting together the players that fit best with Anthony Edwards.
Nothing else matters for the future of the club. Randle was a miss in doing that. So, rip the band-aid off and try a new approach. Whether we like it or not, Edwards and (insert 11 names here) is the future of the franchise.
I mean if Ant is calling out the energy of the starting lineup. . .it has to be Randle. If Ant is disenchanted with Julius then there really is nothing redeeming to keep him here unless you know for sure he will opt out.

Good stuff Tim. These guys actually watch games it appears!
This validates the initial thesis of the trade which is that Randle was just a transitionary piece. But everyone put their best foot forward because they had to. It served no one to piss off Randle by minimizing his role or bringing him off the bench right away.
Now it's still just a thesis. We'll see if something actually gets done by the trade deadline. It would kind of suck if we had to include that Detroit pick to get off Randle. That would be painful.
The other thing I found insightful from that podcast excerpt was that stat on Ant being blitzed more than anyone else in the NBA on pick and rolls.
I mean that by itself gives the Wolves a massive advantage in half court sets. It's too bad that Ant hasn't embraced it more and further refined the speed and accuracy in which he makes that initial pass off the double (although he showed he can do it in the Phoenix playoff series). But it also says a lot about how little respect the rest of his team mates get as a 4 on 3 threat.

The only scenario I could see us attaching the Detroit first to Randle is if it brought in a decent player and cut 13.6 million off the books this year to drop us below the 2nd tax apron.

When a player says publicly "there's nothing I can do" when opponents blitz him, I guess we shouldn't be surprised that he is the most blitzed player in the league. That said, I have seen some green shoots of progress with Ant in the games since that unfortunate comment. I'm still holding out some hope that he can learn how to be more effective when doubled.
