Wolves vs. the best team in the Association GDT

Naw has crashed back to earth
Re: Wolves vs. the best team in the Association GDT
Man, we just get killed on long rebounds. Seems like a theme.

Ty Jerome is another one blessed by Kenny Atkinson's golden touch. Having by far his best season at age 27 and has become a dangerous bench weapon.
Re: Wolves vs. the best team in the Association GDT
Welp, this one is over. Ant trying to go one on one with tired legs while Cleveland methodically moves the ball around, gets every long rebound, and sinks open 3 after open 3. They are contenders and we're not.
Finch should pull his starters here and give them some rest. Let guys like Miller and Clark get some run.

We were down 7 when the nurse came in to give me my next dose of morphine (aaaaaaaah!)...down 20 when she left. But I don't care too much once the morphine kicks in! You guys are right...tired legs. Nice first 35 minutes though.
Re: Wolves vs. the best team in the Association GDT
Let's give Rob the rest of the game to get his confidence up. The Cavs prove there's a role in this league for small guards.
Re: Wolves vs. the best team in the Association GDT
Tired legs lead to the big deficit. The Wolves clawed their way back but just ran out of time.
Re: Wolves vs. the best team in the Association GDT
Jim and Grady having some fun with the point spread at the end. Naz hits a 3-pointer from Roseville with 12 seconds left to get the Wolves within the 5 1/2 point spread. Then you expect the Cavs to dribble out the game and give the Wolves bettors the cover...but Jaden fouls! That's why I don't bet buckets anymore!
More importantly, good move by Finchie to give Rob those 4th quarter minutes. Maybe the Cavs D wasn't quite as focused, but he still took advantage of it. I think we'll see him getting 15-20 minutes the last half of the season.
I also loved the 27 assists and only 7 turnovers for BOTH teams tonight...good basketball. We can still challenge for the 4th spot (only 3 1/2 out) if we move and protect the ball. Love NAW's effort, but he needs to start hitting his shots.

I didn’t watch the game. Looks like we hung in there for a while before losing by 7 points.
I’ll leave it to those who watched to give their assessment of why the Wolves lost. But looking at the box score reveals one reason - i.e., NAW’s shooting. I know he’s not a particularly good shooter, but I had to do a double take when I saw he was 1-10 from the field. If he had simply gone 4-10 with one 3-pointer that would have covered the 7-point margin.
I also noticed that Dilly went 5-10 from the field with 3 assists and only 1 turnover. He was the only sub with a plus in the plus/minus category. I did have 6 fouls and I’m not sure how well he defender, but his box score looks pretty impressive for a 19 year old rookie with little NBA playing time just coming back from and ankle injury and playing against the best team in the League.
It looks like Rudy shot well tonight and he got back into double figures rebounding. But I also noticed that he had zero blocked shots. I don’t think we’re going to win many games in which Rudy doesn’t block any shots.

Lip, I was happy that finchie gave Rob so much run in the 4th quarter. But his plus minus is a little misleading, He had a bad stint in the first half when he missed all 4 shots and got targeted on defense. And perhaps the cavs were not so locked in on defense when dilly was on the court bringing the deficit from 20 to 7…he had two sweet drives for layups that he maybe doesn’t get if the game is on the line. Still, I think he has promise and should be getting 15-20 mpg while Donte is out.
Check out the first half of the game if you have time tomorrow…the offense was really cooking!
