9 Games in the Wilderness - Wolves at Mavs GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

I just don't know how to feel about this team. Our performance with Randle is way below expectations, so many of us would like to see a trade. We have 9 games before the trade deadline. Many of them are "winnable". But it feels like we are just hoping to tread water until we know what this team looks like after the trade deadline. It's kind of depressing...

It could be worse: we could have the Mavs' injury woes. Luka is out. And they just diagnosed Lively with a foot fracture who will be out 2 or 3 months. That is quite the blow for them!

This feels like a game the Wolves should win. But we know we can't take anything for granted. Looking forward to Dilly ramping up his minutes!

I have a feeling we win tonight. Two out of the three Wolves killers out tonight - Doncic and Lively. Just leaves Kyrie, who will likely score over 30 points even with Jaden hounding him all game.

Don't forget about Gafford.

He's had 12 - 13 fg and 12 - 15 fg games over his last 3... along with 11 blocks during that time.

Helps not to have Doncic throwing those lobs, but someone else must be.

Rudy outplayed their bigs last time. That is a key component of how these teams match up.

The line was 2.5 points for the Wolves earlier today. It's up to 4.5 now. I wonder if there are another Mav or two not playing tonight?

The Mavs are so depleted that I am tempted to classify this as a "trap" game as we wander through the Wilderness waiting for the trade deadline!

Mavs are without...

Luka Doncic
Dereck Lively II
Klay Thompson
Naji Marshall
Jaden Hardy
Dwight Powell
Dante Exum

...tonight vs. Wolves, their starting 5...

Kyrie Irving
Quentin Grimes
P.J. Washington
Olivier-Maxence Prosper
Daniel Gafford
