Twins dynamic awesome off-season!!!!

Post by Monster »

Mike Ford can you believe we got this guy?

Mickey Gasper didn't he play in the 80's?

A rule 5 pick just wait till he turns into the next Johan or Ryan Pressely!!!

It's a pretty sad off-season but fortunately it's a team with some real talent at the major and minor league levels. As the off-season goes on it seems like Paddack and his 1 year salalry keeps looking more and more tradeable and maybe even get a little something back. It's really sad the Twins have to cut salary to sign anyone. I didn't see Santana getting over 12 million and he turned down more money than that. Good for him but don't worry we have Mike Ford!!!

Monster, I agree that the offseason has been underwhelming. Still, I'm feeling quite optimistic about this club, even without changes. I've seen our starting pitching ranked in the top five, and I feel fairly good about our lineup. But my biggest optimism is hearing the Ishbia brothers want to buy the team. They are all about winning and spending. I'm hoping this deal gets done in time for us to make a couple big acquisitions.

I agree I still feel like it can be a good team and it seems more like they at least don't have to cut any salary to keep at the payroll number. With the impending sale seemingly likely I wonder if Falvey has a move that costs some money but normally would be a no-brainer maybe the Pohlads can be convinced to let them make the move. I don't exactly have my hope up on that but the other thing is eventually there will be someone available that's worthwhile that they can sign for a budget friendly deal. It sucks they don't have a bigger budget but I also haven't seen many guys I'm like oh man we could have signed that guy if only we had...idk like 5 or 10 million more to spend. I didn't expect Santana to get what he got and he was offered more than he took from at least one other team. I think there might have been a starting pitcher that signed for a good price but that's not exactly the top need for this team which is...wait what? Imagine saying that to a fan a couple years ago!

Meanwhile if a 1b and or some other righthanded bat and a lefty reliever is the biggest needs on the shopping list those are good spots to be able to shop in the discount isle. It seems clear they are exploring possible options on the trade market so they aren't just sitting around waiting for spring training.

Also AAA seems loaded with bats! Lol

Twins trade Michael Helman for cash and DFA Ronny Henriquez. I’m a big fan of Helman he is from Lincoln but the Twins have a bunch of guys in the organization that might be ready to fill in at a position and a few of them don’t take up a 40 man roster spot. I was a little surprised at the Ronny DFA until my brother pointed out he didn’t have any minor league options.

I saw someone legit reported that the Pohlads did green light some more spending with the impending sale coming. I wonder if they have a couple more million to sign a vet 1b option.
