I firmly believe TC has trading NAW on his radar provided he doesn't have a path to keep him next year. That's how he does business. He could be in high demand.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 9:52 pm The Wolves will be a first round exit team in the playoffs this season - assuming they get there. I think that’s been pretty clear for quite a while even though there have been moments when I and others thought this team might become something more. In spite of these bad recent losses and the overall failure this season, I’m liking some things we’ve seen lately. I love what we’re seeing from Jaden offensively and on the boards. I love what we’re saw from Naz tonight. He’s a uniquely gifted scorer. I’m intrigued by what we’re seen recently from Clark and I’m very happy with what we’ve seen from Dilly.
I’m unhappy with Minott’s regression over the past few weeks and disappointed in Garza’s poor showing the past two games. However, overall I see a number of bright spots. But this team has to get under the 2nd AND 1st aprons to get effectively maneuvering over the next couple years building Wolves 2.0. I’d also like to see us amass some additional assets. To that end, I’d trade NAW by the deadline for future picks. He should have a lot of value to a contending team down the stretch as a cheap, tough defensive-minded guard who can shoot. I’m not holding my breath on a Randle deal this week, but I’d still love to see something happen that will provide the Wolves with substantial cap relief this summer and potentially a future pick.
I don’t have any specific NAW trade ideas in mind but I’m sure there are a number of good ones. I’d shop him and start a bidding war. I can see getting at least a future top 12 protected 1st round pick or two second round picks for NAW. I thought we’d be able to get a good deal for Randle by the deadline but that was before his groin injury. Hard to see how we can get anything decent for him now so we’ll have to wait until the summer.

Dallas's Nico Harrison claims defense wins title; seems like they could use another defensive guard! Knicks are another team that could use depth for the stretch run. Or how about Connelly's old team Denver? Is Strawther really the 7th or 8th man they want out there come playoff time? NAW seems like a better option.Phenom wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 10:12 pmI firmly believe TC has trading NAW on his radar provided he doesn't have a path to keep him next year. Hmm... Somebody's prepping for a trade, me thinks!
Michael Scotto @MikeAScotto 6m
TRADE: The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired the Denver Nuggets’ 2030 second-round draft pick from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for the Phoenix Suns’ 2029 second-round draft pick.

Good thoughts, Q. I always hate to make trades that help Conference rivals. So my strong preference would be dealing NAW and Randle to Eastern Conference teams. But ultimately, it’s more about the return than the team so I’m ultimately OK with trading NAW to the Mavs or Nuggets if that’s what it takes to get the best assets in return.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2025 10:23 pmDallas's Nico Harrison claims defense wins title; seems like they could use another defensive guard! Re: Trade deadline discussion thread
They're not trading NAW because they think by doing that they're giving off the vibe that they're punting this year when everything they do shows they're not trying to do that, even though I've said all along that NAW is gone no matter what.

Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant has requested a trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves, sources tell me & @ShamsCharania pic.x.com/1uJIHVik19
Re: Trade deadline discussion thread
Pretty sure the Durant thing I just posted is fake news.
Re: Trade deadline discussion thread
Not impossible, as I layed out in the Durant thread, but it would absolutely decimate the roster.
Re: Trade deadline discussion thread
And it begins...
Michael Scotto @MikeAScotto 17m
Kevin Durant is now listed as doubtful with an ankle sprain for tomorrow's Phoenix Suns game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
