How can we have a 2.0 discussion and not mention Bones Hyland? There. I did it.

We're all interested in who is going to fit best in Ant 2.0. But after watching Utah dominate us inside last night, one thing is perfectly clear. Ant 2.0 is not going to be very successful if we can't find some big bodies to replace Rudy and Ju.

I see Rudy as part of Wolves 2.0. I don’t see him declining significantly over the next 4 years. He appears to be in great physical shape and doesn’t depend on athleticism. I like Rudy, Jaden and Naz up front with Ant and an alternative to Conley in the backcourt. I don’t think Dilly will be ready to be the starting caliber PG we need until the 2026-27 season. Maybe DDV can play that role. I’m not sure we need a classic PG with a ball dominant star SG like Ant. We should probably think of Wolves 2.0 more in line with MJ’s Bulls, Kobe’s Lakers and Wade’s Heat. All three teams had star SGs in the mold of Ant and paired their SGs with three-point shooting non-traditional PGs. I think DDV can play that role as Ant continues to improve his decision-making and reduce his turnovers. Eventually Dilly provides the best of both worlds as a 3-point shooter AND a good playmaker/ballhandler.

Yeah, I think Rudy can have multiple more years of being an effective defensive Center. The thing he has to accept is that he will increasingly become more of a role player and not a guy that is consistently among the top 3 in minutes per game on the team. It also means he sees the ball less on offense and is primarily a screener and offensive rebounder.

Finch very gradually started showing more flexibility with his lineups after a very rigid rotation to start the year. Then his hand was forced by injuries. Now he has a larger group of guys he can trust in critical situations and matchups can dictate the best 5 players to have out there at any given time.
