Yeah, well this might still be partly the Wolves fault, but the Magic shot way over their season % from not only the 3, but from the FT line as well. They have always been a solid defensive team (#2 this season). And while they played the night before, they were coming off a solid "feel-good" win at the Pelicans.

So kudos to the Wolves for surviving and over-coming that anomalous offensive production from the Magic!
Great teams lose to average/below average teams every once in a while due to shooting variance, bad bounces, tough calls, etc. The problem is we had this happen way too often during the first 2/3rds of the season, which made us all question whether we were a great team or not. In fact, the last loss before this win streak was a bad one @ Utah. Since then, we have been taking care of business and have seemingly turned things around to where we feel like we have a legit playoff run in us.

I'm hopeful we continue to reel off wins, but it shouldn't be a shock if drop one to a bad team along the way. We just can't have it happen multiple times between now and the end of the season. Not much room for error!

It's ridiculous. Feels like it happens way more often than what would be explained by normal variance. Hopefully they regress to the mean in the 2nd half.

Obviously, there will be games where randoms hit threes. But overall... Wolves opponents are shooting only 34.8% on three pointers this season.

That's the 3rd WORST percentage in the league.

Yeah, it's just very noticeable when it happens so it really stands out. The fact we use a ton of single coverage and try not to blitz ball handlers or double the post much, it really helps keep opponent open 3s down since guys are staying home.

I didn't have a problem with Finchie's defensive strategy of packing a paint and daring a bad shooting team to put up 3's, but it didn't work. I liked the adjustment in the 4th quarter of going back to our scrambling defense and defending the arc. Nice comeback win.
