Denver playing the B team tonight. Surprised they would give up a game like that.

Another late season loss to the Spurs that could have huge implications. They have @Warriors, Pacers, @Kings, Grizz, @Rockets left.

Wolves could catch Nuggets all of the sudden.

FNG wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 4:36 pm A lot of movement last night with anti-klunkers for the Wolves and Warriors. The Grizzlies have now dropped to 8th in my forecast, and the Wolves are tied with the Warriors for 6th. Here's what I have:

OkC: Duh
2. Houston, Lakers: 51 (tiebreaker will be determined when they play each other)
4. Denver 50
5. Clippers 49 (I have the winning their next 6...hope I'm wrong)
6, Warriors 48 (hold the tiebreaker over us)
7. Wolves 48
8. Memphis 47

There's then a huger dropoff to the 4 teams competing for 9th and 10th, but i think it will be Sac-Town and Dallas.
6th is okay, but if we can beat the Dame-less Bucks, we move to 5th tied with the Clips (and our tie breaker). And if Cool is right and we run the table, we might be tied with Denver for 4th...and we have the tiebreaker.

Run the table and we may have home court advantage!

Run the table and there is a scenario from the KOM where the Wolves snag the 3 seed as part of a 3-way tie!

I'll go you one better, Tim. Even though I have the Wolves going 4-2 and finishing in a tie with the Warriors with 48 wins, they could actually even end up in a 5-way tie for SECOND if they run the table, and, the following things happen:

1) Golden State wins at the Lakers tonight
2) Houston loses the last game of the season at home to Denver, and
3) no other klunkers or anti-klunkers occur

If all those things happen, the Rockets, Lakers, Warriors, Nuggets and Wolves would all end up with 50 wins...don't ask me who wins that tiebreaker!

If the Nuggets beat GS and the Clippers beat Dallas tonight, that will create a 4 way tie at the end of the night.

In head to head matchups
Golden State is 9-4
LA is 6-6
Minnesota is 4-6
Memphis is 3-6

Wolves really shit the bed against the Ws and Grizz. The Wolves will be on the short end of tiebreakers unless it's just LAC or maybe Denver. Just keep winning!

I assume Houston's win today over OKC shoots down FNG's fantasy that the 2 seed is in play...

The best thing for the Wolves is for Houston to keep beating all these teams we are trying to leap frog.

Wolves finish the night tied with Memphis and LAC. It appears each team is 3-3 head to head so it goes to conference record. The Wolves have the best conference record of any teams they are battling with, so they are currently 6th.

So true, Tim. Houston begins a 3-game trip to California tomorrow, and I project them to win all three games...but 2 or 3 California Klunkers would really improve the Wolves standing. I've redone by forecast to reflect some changes...most notable, injuries to the Suns and Portland leads me to believe they are basically done for the season. The implications for the Wolves is that I had projected the Warriors to lose to both teams on the road, but I now think they will win both games. This moves the red-hot Warriors (I believe I read they are undefeated when both Curry and Butler play) into third place in my forecast. The Wolves are all alone in 8th, and really need an anti-klunker either in Milwaukee or Memphis (or both) to get out of the play in. Here is the current forecast reflecting my belief that the Warriors are now going to run the table and finish with 51 wins.

1. OkC
2. Houston 52
3. Warriors 51
4. Lakers 50 (own the tiebreaker over Denver)
5. Denver 50
6. Clips 49
7. Memphis 48
8. Wolves 48

The Kings and Mavs should hold off the folding trailblazers and suns and finish 9th and 10th.
