Off topic alert: As much as I loved Timothy Chalomet in A Complete Unknown, it pisses me off to see him courtside. It's like celebrities will only go to a game if they can be in the front row. I know he's a true Knicks fan...I'd respect him a lot more if he was anywhere other than courtside.

Ha, I do...loved it! I will say athletes are much more likely to sit somewhere other than courtside than actors are.

Personally I don't enjoy watching the game courtside if I want to watch the entire game. Don't get me wrong being that close to the action would be awesome (I might get a ticket to sit that close next time I go to a pro basketball game in Europe for the experience) but I like being able to see the whole floor from a higher perspective. I also like seeing around the arena at fans etc. I'm the person that generally likes sitting in the back of a gathering presentation as opposed to the front. However if I was famous I'm not sure if I would be wanting to sit in seats with tons of fans all around me. I'd be there to watch the game not dealing with people possibly interacting with me. I'm not saying I would mind people coming up to me but like I said I would want to watch the game. I would assume sitting courtside would limit how much access people had to someone that was famous. That could have appeal.

A few years ago I was at a Nebraska Women's soccer game. At the time they played in the middle of the track and field area which was right next to where the Huskers football team practiced which they were doing for part of the first half of the soccer match. After practice a number of the players from the football team came over to watch the game. Some yahoos kept yelling for the QB to come over and sit with them. He didn't engage just sat with his teammates and cheered for the soccer players. That has always stuck with me. Keep in mind this was a game played during like a Thursday afternoon there wasn't a ton of people there. Imagine an NBA arena...

I bet the likeliness of people knowing who Killroff was compared to Timothy Chalomet is pretty drastic. Lol besides if Timothy Chalomet is a true Knicks fan why wouldn't he drop as much money as he could to get the best seats!?! Lol I'd guess for those courtside seats there is some sort of broker situation.

Also to be clear I'm not crying for famous rich people although they do give up something to have those things. I did feel a little bad for that college QB in the moment I described earlier. I enjoy my relative anonymity.

You make a lot of good points, Monster. I've been "lucky" to sit courtside twice as a guest, and throughout the game I had these three thoughts: "Man, is this ever cool! But I can't really see the game very well with all these bodies in front of me. Boy, I'm sure glad I didn't have to pay for these tickets!" I got a kick out of the people in the front row continually bending right and left to try and see around Thibs...I wondered how they felt about coughing up $50K for their seat (if they bought it online)!

But you're right- I'm not a celebrity, and nobody is bothering me when I sit in the stands. I can see why a celeb may want to sit courtside and only have two people bothering him (her) at most!
