Bring Them All Back?
Re: Bring Them All Back?
Doogie (who sucks) said today that he expects Naz to get 30-32 million a years this offseason. If that is the case fold it up, it’s over.

I agree with this. Honestly I think the only player safe is Ant this offseasonthedoper wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 10:45 amI think there is a happy medium of a player that doesnt cost as much as Rudy out there. Also, Rudy’s 2nd half minutes were a layup line too. His D is getting more spotty.FNG wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 10:40 amDoper, there’s no question that Rudy was an embarrassment every time the ball touched his hands. But there’s a reason we played the thunder almost dead even in the 21 minutes he was on the court in a game we lost by 20+…he remains a defensive force, and his screening frees up his teammates for open looks. Kek always does a great job documenting what happens with our interior defense when he sits, and it ain’t pretty. If we ever move on from Rudy, TC better have a suitable defensive options. Otherwise we’ll have to prepare ourselves for a season of layup lines.thedoper wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 10:30 am Rudy was awful last night. His new contract may still give him some trade value. I wouldnt mind us retooling our front line and bench. We would lose some d but finding a center that can play decent D, roll to the rim, and actually catch the ball doesnt seem like to big of an ask.

Luka Garza is our backup C.thedoper wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 10:45 amI think there is a happy medium of a player that doesnt cost as much as Rudy out there. Jesse Edwards is our two way big.
They haven't shown the ability to find a guy that can make it easier to not play Gobert as much. That's the #1 goal they should have entering the draft.

There's the belief that if anyone who had money would pursue Randle then they'd probably just prefer Naz anyway.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 11:00 pmFrom who?![]()
He's going to have to opt in to his 15 mill. No one is going above that.
I could still see BK making a decent offer for him if they wanna speed up their process a bit.

Naz has too many weaknesses though. Can't pass at all (turnover machine), a bit of a weak defender and rebounder STILL. Sure he's good albeit streaky as a 3P shooter and he can drive a bit. But thats his game. He's not a starter is this league. Not on a good team.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 11:13 pmThere's the belief that if anyone who had money would pursue Randle then they'd probably just prefer Naz anyway.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 11:00 pmFrom who?![]()

He's basically a small forward that can't do enough small forward things like defend and rebound or pass. As a center he's vastly overmatched physically nor protect the rim (too short).
I still like him, but he's a bench guy still to me.
Randle however has proven 100% the opposite. He's been a stud down the stretch and in the playoffs. His defense can wain a bit, but he can pass great, drive and finish, is physical and out physicals most guys. Rebounds well most of the time (similar to his defense it can come and go a bit). He's not a great 3P shooter still OK, but as an overall player he's just so well rounded. And he's playing against stud starters most of the time and having his way (like Draymond).
To me, anyone who at this point favors Naz over Randle just doesn't know ball at all. It's not even close.
The one thing Naz has going for him is age. Other then that Ju is a far superior player.

That's kinda my point though. In BK's case, Randle doesn't do anything for them. Naz fits more where they're trying to go.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Thu May 22, 2025 11:47 pmNaz has too many weaknesses though. Despite everything we've seen, I'm more than ok letting Randle walk if he opts out, but I was never under the belief that Naz was more than a very good 6th man. The fanbase just wanted it to be so because they love him so much and by the end of this series, fans will begin to realize that.
Re: Bring Them All Back?
I knew this thread was premature! Need to see how the rest of this series plays out, but if it keeps up on the current path then suddenly a more dramatic overhaul might be needed. OKC isn't going anywhere soon...
Re: Bring Them All Back?
I thought the "KD talk" was cute earlier in the season. But I don't see him being a difference maker at his age.
