being able to watch Thibs on a daily basis, my big fear is that Finch went from being the guy Rosas was able to hire thinking he could work with anyone and adapt to anything and now he's become Thibs Jr. where he plays favorites, leans too much into vets, and if you're not his type, he doesn't wanna try working with you. There's a ceiling to where those coaches can go. It's a high one, but still falls short of the goal.

Meanwhile, Rick Carlisle's throwing Tony Bradley out there in big spots against the Knicks and showcasing faith that he can go 10 deep and win.
I think Finch deserves some criticism, but do you honestly think his coaching has prevented us from beating OKC?
I think a chunk of what caused us to beat OKC twice barely ever got to see the floor. Now OKC is better. No denying that. For what was supposed to be a transitional year, all we got out of it as far as the young guys is that Minott has no future here. We really didn't learn anything else outside of that stretch where everyone was hurt. This was a series where expanding the rotation, not worrying about feelings and keeping the bigger picture in mind was kinda lost.

Preparation is no use when OKC is so much better. You have to play a perfect game to lose close, and need OKC to play terribly to win. OKC is going to be good for a while, Connelly has his work cut out for him.
Yup, he does indeed. Now we need to go back to Lip's thread about bringing everyone back (he had a question mark) and folks can revisit their initial thoughts!
I guess we'll find out what TC and Finchy put more weight on: the fact that we went 25-6 from the time Julius returned from injury through the first two rounds of the playoffs, or the fact that we got our azzes handed to us by the best team in the NBA. Right now this seems more important, but the 31 games before these 5 have to mean something.
We played mostly weak opponents or teams missing key players. And even without that, you can't attribute all that winning to just Ju. We had several players going well. This series has clearly spoken to me in terms of whether he should be back. Bringing him back sets a low ceiling for sure. I can't stand it when idiots like Doris refer to him and Ant as our two stars.

Yeah, if we go just by this series, Julius, Rudy, Naz, and Conley should all be traded or not re-signed. And perhaps there is a case to do just that, IDK.

It's hard not to think about if they had hit their corner threes in game one and had cleaned the glass in game 4. The best of the best put the whole package together. This team just drops the ball in some facet, pretty much every game.

I agree with someone who said this is the same team a banged up Denver squad took to 7 games. I think they will beat the champs from the East, but one of the best teams of all time? I don't think so. Whatever it was, we did not bring near our best in this series.

No, I'm far from attributing it to Ju...I attribute it to a full healthy rotation and, yes, some injured opponents. It's just an obvious way of bifurcating the season. We had just lost to Utah, and then (in a game I was lucky to be at) destroyed the Suns on their court with a healthy team.

Minott, Dillingham, Clark, and Shannon all got some opportunity to play in non-garbage time minutes and the coaches see them in SISL all the time. May be us fans are left wanting for more, but I'm pretty sure the coaches and front office have a pretty good idea on these guys.
