Hope we keep pick 17 and don't use it in a trade for a geriatric. If we keep it, I'm hoping either that we can find Rudy's replacement or a 3 and D guy. With Pick 31st, I'm hoping for the same or a point guard. With Dilly and either one of the Jones boys or Lonzo Ball, I don't think we need to focus on point guard, but then again if you can find someone with Maxey's potential with pick 31, that might make sense too.

Thoughts on Joan Beringer?
I would be on board with Beringer, along with several others. It would be a pick that might not be on the roster next year, but if TC believes he’s the guy that will be someone in a few years, I’ll follow suit.

Beringer seems like a project to me, but I like his potential. Seems really nimble and coordinated, thus can switch out and contain guys while also being a rim protector. I also think European players come into the NBA with solid b-ball IQ since they spend less time playing games and more time in structured practice and development settings.

I like your guy Fleming too Tim, as he has an enormous wingspan for a guy that is only 6'9, so I really think he could play small-ball Center without actually being very small. Plus he has 3-point shooting potential. Al Horford 2.0 may be??

Rudy is literally our only big on the roster that is a plus defender. It would be nice to add another defensively-oriented big with #17 or #31.

I’ll be shocked if the select at 17. Makes the most sense to trade down, use the pick in a trade for a player or trade the pick for future draft capital.

Yeah, seems like an easy asset to include in a trade for a good rotation piece while still preserving our ability to get someone promising at #31. The question is are we going to make that pick on behalf of another team since a trade may not be able to be executed until after the draft?

Or ala Walker Kessler. I gotta think TC was fine keeping him had the Rudy trade not materialized.

I could see 17 and 31 for 26, 27, and 36, but I think moving up should be more of a priority and addressing center one way or the other.

They already have to add 1. Trading Rudy means they need two of them.

On another note, HoopsHype posted their latest aggregate mock draft. Asa Newell at #17 and Ryan Kalkbrenner at #31.

The case for drafting Rocco Zikarsky

1. Size. 9’6.5 standing reach - biggest in this draft class. Also has nice 7’4.75 wingspan and weighs 257 pounds.
2. Decent speed/athleticism for big. 31.5 max vertical, 3.00 shuttle run, 3.48 3/4 court sprint
3. Good hands as evidenced by video
4. Great name. I want a guy on our team named Rocco.

The case for Yanic Konan Niederhauser.

1. Athleticism. Has great athleticism for a big with 37” max vertical, 2.84 shuttle, and 3.2 3/4 court sprint time.
2. Good size. Has 9’3 standing reach and 7’3.25 wingspan at 242 pounds.
3. Shot blocking. Natural shot-blocker averaging 2.3 blocks in 33.5 minutes last season.
4. Ball skills. Seems to have a nice dribble drive game in close with some nice moves. Not sure about shooting though.
4. Great name. Not crazy about last name & whole thing’s too long. But can’t beat Konan. “Konan the Barbarian”

Looks like he has excess body fat. Could see him getting even more impressive physically under NBA conditioning program.
