I will say it again. Money always talks. We won’t give extension and we have state income taxes. The other team rumored do not have either.
[Spears] "KD wanted the New York Knicks. The Knicks have no interest in bringing him in... There is some fear from him and Rich Kleiman that they're hoping that there's going to be respect at Kevin's age to give him what he wants rather than try to trade him like he's 31 years old."
Sounds like he wanted the Knicks first and they told him no. They have a higher tax bracket than Minnesota has and is only 10 or so degrees warmer than Minneapolis December through March.

The state tax could be a factor, but then you wonder why the California teams never seem to have much of a problem bringing in free agents. I think it's a combination of a lot of things, and the weather could be one of them (although I can't imagine why anyone would ever want to live in Houston). I still think that KD wants to win one more championship, and he knows Rudy would probably be part of the package going out and that would significantly dampen our chances. Houston could trade Green and Brooks and still challenge for a chip if they got KD, and the Spurs should be able to put together a nice package without touching Wemby or Fox.

Anyway, Lip and I are relieved. Is anyone else?
You think some words whispered by KD's agent are going to slow down TC's pursuit?!? HA!!!

Lol, but I actually think so. TC is a wise man, and he's seen the difference between a happy KD and a disgruntled KD. I see zero chance of him giving up assets if he thinks KD isn't buying in. Now, if he meets with KD, and he tells him he indeed does want to come to Minny, then it's a different story. But I don't think that's going to happen.

I am so mad right now
Why? This place is a shithole where it’s winter half the year also. Can you really blame him?
Well it is definitely cold. But NBA players spend a significant amount of that time in airports, in a gym or out of town.
As for the Twin Cities being a shithole... would be interesting to see how you compare it with other NBA cities. MN is noted for a pretty high standard quality of life.
Most people in Minny are decent. I grew up there. But its cold and I've experienced high crime. I don't know what the stats say, but personally I have been robbed or defrauded a lot more times in Minnesota than everywhere else I've lived combined. Oh, and the sports teams are dreadful and the only pro sports team that won it all were the Twins and that was while I was overseas (87) and when I lived in another state (91). I support the Wolves and Twins still, but man I'm happy I don't live there anymore, though I always kid my wife, that we should move to Minnesota just for the cringe reaction.

Did you put yourself in bad situations drunk late at night? I was robbed once when someone broke into my car to grab something in my car but that was in Maple Grove so not a bad area by any means. I have friends in Chicago that had her bike stolen three times, and another that was held up for his iphone years ago in Chicago. I have friends in Lexington Kentucky that have been robbed, friends in Miami that have been robbed. That kind of stuff is just random if you're not careful, and can happen to anyone anywhere in the world.

Shams just said KD has ZERO desire to play in Minnesota
FUCK YOU KD
Who cares? I don't want KD here because TC will overpay for him and he'll get injured and he'll have an albatross salary if resigned at what KD wants.
Yep, we dodged a bullet there. Spending all that extension money on a 38 and 39 year old would have been terrible, not to mention the assets we would have lost.
Now, let’s turn our attention to finding the best deal possible for Randle, resign Naz at a (very) good value, and nail those picks. Open to trading DDV too if the right deal comes along

Drinking was never involved. Had cars broken into multiple times (nowhere else). I had multiple bikes stolen. I had a dirt bike taken from me (though I got it back). Had my possessions stolen from storage unit (nowhere else), got scammed by a gym (that shut down soon after paying long term membership), got scammed by a stock scam involving a Minnesota company and Minny broker, got scammed by a professional licensing organization. Also, as a kid, I had my lunch money stolen from me countless times (but that's just part of going to public school).
