I don't think I want to watch Jordan Clarkson play basketball.
Starting PG Trade Options
Re: Starting PG Trade Options
I wanted to mention that since Lonzo Ball signed an extension in February, he’s not eligible to be traded until August 6.
This is an odd time of year that will likely crush his trade value. It’s five weeks after the draft, and a month after free agency. It’s during this period that teams form their line ups for the year, including a heavy trade season. Teams don’t maintain an open starting slot this late into the off-season. They want the security of knowing they’ve addressed their team needs. In our case, that would likely mean we don’t roll into August with the possibility of Mike and Rob being our only options, and no leverage in a CHI trade because we need Lonzo.

They could agree to a trade, but not submit it for the 5 weeks…shrink wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 9:27 am I wanted to mention that since Lonzo Ball signed an extension in February, he’s not eligible to be traded until August 6.

As a Wolves fan, handshake deals frighten me.60WinTim wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 3:15 pmThey could agree to a trade, but not submit it for the 5 weeks…shrink wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 9:27 am I wanted to mention that since Lonzo Ball signed an extension in February, he’s not eligible to be traded until August 6.

Re: Starting PG Trade Options
I can't understand why anyone would be in favor of trading for Ball. The guy can't get on the court and when he does he gets injured almost immediately. WW said he signed an extension back in February. Didn't he get injured the end of that month only to miss the rest of the season. Why would anyone think there will be a different outcome?
Re: Starting PG Trade Options
Sometimes ideas are better than reality. He would be perfect here, 5 years ago. But having cooked knees at his age is no Bueno. I'd take him for free or on a minimum for sure, but wouldn't gamble our minimal assets on him.mjs34 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 4:50 pm I can't understand why anyone would be in favor of trading for Ball. Then again, he could be money in the pick and roll with Greg Oden if we could bring them both inTheFuture wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 8:23 pmSometimes ideas are better than reality. Man, I loved watching Oden and Conley in college. In that era of the NBA, Oden was going to be a huge force.FNG wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 8:26 pmThen again, he could be money in the pick and roll with Greg Oden if we could bring them both inTheFuture wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 8:23 pmSometimes ideas are better than reality. Re: Starting PG Trade Options
I’ll just mention this here: if the Wolves do pull off a KD trade, the Wolves become a bit more appealing for FAs looking for somewhere to land. Tre or Tyus? Among many others.
Re: Starting PG Trade Options
It might be a decent gamble since he is only signed this season and then next is a team option. The thing is Chicago isn't gonna give him away they might as well hold onto him and hope he stays healthy enough to either help them or to raise his trade value so they can get something for him. Having said that could the Wolves do something better with that 10 million? Yeah that's a good question. Ball could also be a guy you add into some sort of mid season deal to make salaries work. Back to the Bulls it seems like he would fit with some of the other guards there and not play big minutes to protect whatever health he has. They also don't have to have him stay healthy they have other options. I don't really expect him to get moved.
