I'd keep Minott over Garza for sure. I don't think Garza will ever be quick enough or springy enough to be adequate on defense. Minott has the upside. Sure he blew a few defensive assignments and was put in the doghouse. Let's see if he learns he has to really focus on that end, do his film studies, pay attention to rotations/gameplans.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 28, 2025 5:29 pm Reading the recent reports about Randle staying put, and seeing what TC did with Naz’s starting salary, I’m now certain the Wolves will be signing Randle to a multi-year deal. Now that Naz is locked up, we don’t have to worry about losing him, which was the main reason I didn’t’ want to sign Randle long term. If Randle signs a multi-year deal, it’s inevitable that NAW will leave. So we’ll likely have the same team as last season but with either TSJ or Clark filling NAW’s role off the bench. Depending on Randle’s new starting salary next season, we’ll fill our final roster slot with either a vet minimum guy or a taxpayer MLE guy. It’s looking like our roster for next season will probably be as follows:
1. Conley
2. Ant
3. Jaden
4. Randle
5. Rudy
6. Naz
7. Donte
8. TSJ
9. Clark
10. Dilly
11. Minott
12. Miller
13. Garza
14. Beringer
15. Left open or FA at vet minimum or taxpayer MLE
16. Rocco (2-way)
I could see the Wolves releasing or trading Garza and maybe Minott to make room for a vet if they find the right one. We’ll see. Maybe TC will surprise us again with a major trade shortly before training camp.![]()

I missed this yesterday. Minott is in. We still have not heard about Garza...

Keeping Minott around is a good move he still has a chance at being a good rotational player and it's good to see he'll continue to have a chance to do so

Hmm, Interesting. JonnyK used him as a reference to say Minott was done.kekgeek wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 4:49 pmThis account is not a valid source. He makes up a ton. Interesting. Like this week was the first week I’ve seen this guy and he was wrong so much in that week and was only getting retweeted by a Minnesota fan Twitter account60WinTim wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 5:03 pmHmm, Interesting. Welp, you are right kek! Ary is wrong.
The Wolves declined their options on both Minott and Garza.
I think this brings the taxpayer MLE into play, doesn't it. Also, trade options are now on the table...

Re: Next Up: The Options
Assuming Leonard Miller is on the roster after tomorrow, I show the Wolves roughly 8.5 mil under the 2nd apron (Bobby Marks pegs it at 8 mil, but we don't know the exact numbers for Randle and NAZ). Wolves need to add 2 more players to get to the required minimum of 14. They could use the entire TMLE (5.7) in free agency and add a vet minimum player to reach 14. That would put them just under the 2nd apron -- no room for a 15th player down the road.
And as kek mentioned, a trade (maybe involving NAW?) is always on the table. We really can't take back much more than that 5.7 mil for a single player.

Re: Next Up: The Options
Based on what Hoopshype listed as next year’s salaries for Naz and Randle under their new contracts and factoring in the release of Minott and Garza, my calculation shows that our payroll would be $197.8M. That would be about $10M under the projected $207.8M second apron threshold. So it looks like we could pay the full $5.7 taxpayer MLE to a free agent or take back $5.7M in a NAW sign-and-trade, while also signing two vet minimum players with a cap hit of $1.8M each, and end up just below the second apron.
