Beal has missed an awful lot of games the past 5 or 6 years. Other than TC going big game hunting, I don't see a great fit for Beal in Minnesota. And I am not sure Beal would feel a great attraction for Minnesota.

I really don't see much momentum here.
I don't really see the fit either Tim. But he's a veteran with a nice basketball IQ that could help just about anybody. But who does he play over? Not TSJ, not Dilly, he's a different player than Clark. It would have to be a pretty specific role and I don't think he would sign up for it.

Beal is a better version of DDV, but I have similar concerns about how he'd fare in the playoffs as I do DDV. I mean, can Dillingham AND Beal AND DDV co-exist in a way that keeps everyone happy and allows us to maintain a top 10 defense? I'm not sure. I think we'd have to move DDV, which may be we'd be OK with if it was a way to balance the roster out better.

I'll say this- If Jace and Dane are at all correct that DDV is tradable for 2 first and TC swings that while also bringing in Beal than that would be the move of the offseason (I'm probably forgetting something).

But I'm dreaming at that point

He was mentioned as a great fit here by Legler on a podcast. He's likely a 2A or 2B scoring option depending on how you view Ju or the matchup that night. He is the kind of guy that could really help us if we have to face OKC in the playoffs again. We just need another dude or two who can pressure the paint and simply just score in the midrange, he can do that.

So sure if he's bought out and we can sign him sure. As others said DDV may be an odd man out which then makes him tradable too. Beal is far superior and proven as a scorer then DDV, however Beal's lack of defense does make me wonder how well he'd fit. Does the culture of defense make him up his game though? He's typically not played for much in his career, so maybe winning, chance to win it all makes him bring another level to his defense?

Beal would play over some young guys at times which is not what a lot of folks here would want.

Now the idea of signing Beal and trading Donte for value likely someplace he wouldnt mind landing...that might make sense. For the playoffs the Wolves could consider Clark as a guy they could play more defensively when they needed that. Beal would give them the shooting that Donte provided and the scoring they have been missing too. Keep in mind that despite all his injuries Beal just turned 32 it's not like he is 35. I not suggesting he is suddenly gonna play 78 games a year or something but yeah. Meanwhile Donte isn't exactly an iron man either.

I the past a few years ago Beal had become far from a bad defender. Coach Bud had amusingly challenged him last year to be the Wizards Derrick White...so hell yeah we can get Derrick White for cheap!!! Lol Beal isn't the biggest guy but he has enough physical tools to defend and maybe other good defenders around him and not having to carry an offense he could give more on that end.

Again I'm not getting my hopes up at all but I've been intrigued at what Donte could bring in return in a trade for a while even though I'm not in a hurry to deal him.

He would for sure scoop up some minutes over the young guys, which is why DDV would be likely the one to be traded in this situation and frees up 25 minutes there.

For sure a longer shot, but if he wants a chance to compete for a chip, we are in a handful of teams he should be looking at. I doubt it happens also, maybe 10% chance?

I really want to know his mindset though. In Phoenix he didn't seem to be 100% all in competing for it all. What is his compete and drive level at this point? His name is a bit tarnished and his legacy is looking grim, does he care?

Considering that we decided to run it back with a flawed team, we need to significantly upgrade somewhere, and this would address our biggest need (guard scoring), so go for it. There’s not many ways to significantly upgrade a need for this cheap (assuming vet min). He looked bad against us in the playoffs and I imagine he didn’t look great last year either, but the guy can score and we have the defenders to hide any defensive limitations that he has. If he wants the token starters spot I’m even good with that, but I’m keeping him closer to 25-30 mpg. If that’s agreeable then sign me up 💯. I mean check out the guys shooting percentages last year. Still 50% FG for a guard, that’s very good.

I would love to get Beal, but I could really see him going to Milwaukee. They desperately need a lead guard with some star power to go with Giannis and turner. Just makes to much sense imo. That’s my prediction, but hopefully we can get him

My money is on Beal going to the Lakers. There were hints last year the Lakers was a trade destination for which he would waive his no-trade clause. I could see him finding a Reeves, Beal, Luka, LeBron and Ayton starting 5 rather appealing...
