Obviously there’s a pretty decent chance at a PG/combo guard spot being open in our rotation this season. I’m not sure why nobody else sees that. If Conley drops off a cliff, do you think we’re gonna leave him in the rotation as we’re trying to push for the playoffs. If Dilly shows that he’s still a year or two away, do you think we’re gonna leave him in the rotation as we try to push for a good playoff seed? A guy like Juzang doesn’t come here on a non guaranteed contract (when he could easily get a guaranteed contract on a bad team - he’s definitely an NBA player) if he doesn’t think there’s potential playing time. We likely have one of the weakest PG depth charts of any playoff contender and y’all think we’re stacked at PG. Why do you think Westbrook wants to come here? I’m sure there are others too. My prediction is that we sign Brogden. If healthy, his chances of starting are equal with Conley and Dilly and there’s room for 2 in the rotation. Also, just because you’re the 14th or 15th guy signed, doesn’t mean that’s your spot on the depth chart. Ingles is very obviously our last guy on the depth chart and Miller is at the end too. If Juzang sticks, he’s gonna play more than those two and so would a guy like Brogden. I still see a scenario where the guys we add 14th and 15th end up being 9-12 in the actual rotation.

Dane Moore's take on Johnny was that he's a good shooter, but terrible defender. Of course, the advanced defensive stats (like D-EPM which is the one Dane likes) on anyone that played for Utah needs to be taken with a grain of salt since it's almost impossible to isolate individual defensive prowess from overall team defense and Utah was dead last in defensive rating last season.

Without actually watching him defend guys over multiple games like an old-school scout would, there isn't much we can glean from the defensive stats. My guess is he's a below average defender, but may be not as bad as the advanced metrics suggest. His shooting seems legit though.
