Nate Santos. We got him!

I assume it's an Exhibit 10 deal...

I always wondered if Horton would get some chances to do the TV broadcast. I haven't listened to him a ton of times on the radio but when I did I've always thought he was excellent. I'm looking forward to him doing a broadcast.

I know nothing about him other than his college stats. He has already been waived so as expected he will be heading to Iowa.

I finally got around to reading all of Robson's interview with Finchie...very interesting stuff. I love how transparent our coach is...or at least I think he is. I posted a couple days ago that Jonny K had predicted that Donte would begin the season as our starter at PG. Well, it's clear that Finchie doesn't believe it. Not only did he say that he preferred Donte off the ball, but he also said Conley had a great year. I don't know how many minutes he'll play, but it's clear Finchie will be starting him.

Not sure if this became any clearer in the media day talks.

I'd really prefer to see Mike Conley recede to a 3rd string PG role with DDV starting and Rob backing him up, but alas, I tend to agree with you that Finch is going to stick with him in a 20-25MPG role.

There were three post-practice interviews yesterday:

Micah Nori: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3oJ1wyM3e4
Mike Conley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNlevfA9ZLU
Rudy Gobert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fa7_8q42Ek

They are a good listen for anyone loves this kind of stuff (like me!). My biggest take aways are:

1) Without the distraction of blending two brand new players into the rotation, there is a real focus on getting back to playing superior defense, with both the Rudy minutes and the non-Rudy minutes. A part of that focus is demanding that ANT focus on being the superior defender he can be.

2) Another focus is improving the productivity of running in transition. The common theme seems to be Mike Conley running the break more often than last year. This, of course, means Mike's gonna see minutes, and probably as a starter (sorry, Q). I assume it also means Rob, Bones and/or DDV will bear a similar responsibility when Mike goes to the bench.

We have our first injury report. Leonard Miller will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks. That must be quite the laceration on his finger!

Ant said he's getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night and will do so all season. When asked how much he slept before, he said ahhh none of your business. Sounds like he is cleaning the little things up that add up over the course of the season.

Day Two Post-Practice Interviews:

ANT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XLWABc7MAc
Randle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OV8pSg2bbU0
Finch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ik59kBPbsSE

I'm sure Cool would say "he'll believe it when he sees it", but ANT thinks getting more sleep will help his energy and stamina... ;)

Yeah, it certainly appears that Mike Conley is trying to re-assert himself as THE point guard for the Wolves, albeit not in a full-time capacity. I am detecting zero changes to last year's starting lineup. It is what it is.
