Another early morning game, so here goes the GDT. I know this game pails in comparison to tonight's Wolves game, but I suppose it is worth talking about...
I have no idea what to expect. The vibes are bad with sooo many guys injuried. But, get the damn win, come back home, and use the bye week to get a few guys back. Many people figured the Packers would be 4-0 at this point, but there they are at 2-1-1. Get to 3-2, get healthy(ier), and see if the Vikes can garner some mid-season interest as the Wolves season gets off and running.

Somehow the Vikes are even favored by 3.5.
I guess rookie QB on their side versus bad oline and old backup is a win for us? They got the better defense too. I'm not expecting a good game. Defensive battle is very likely.

The vibes seem to be all doom and gloom around this team….

We manage to shoot ourselves in the foot at almost every turn.

You know all that stuff I said? Never mind…. Go Vikes!
Re: Vikings at Browns in London GDT
So, are we about to get the “Brossmer at backup” era?!?

Finally watched this one. Wow I believed the whole time I really did but still in a state of shock and excitement an hour later.
For a team with a patchwork quilt for an oline made out od paper towels they actually did well. That last drive with Darrisaw out on his pitch count was impressive. Meanwhile on the other side the Browns oline was pretty solid for them and there has been some shuffling for them as well.
The Vikings need to figure out their run Defense. Some of it is playing young guys up front. Some is missing Cashman. I'd seen Judkins play a fair amount for the Browns this year he does look like a pretty good RB. Also Gabriel played pretty solid for his first game as a rookie
Would have really sucked if the Vikings lost because Richard's kick was blocked by that cable and he didn't get a chance to rekick it. Made winning that game even more crazy.
Too many penalties and turnovers but they got the win. Justin Jefferson is really good and Wentz while he missed a couple throws also a couple plays that weren't exactly easy. He has done his job As a starter. If he doesn't play another snap this season he probably earned himself a raise from some NFL team as a backup or maybe a cheap bridge starter. This was also the most time any starter has had to throw the ball this year.
I think it's interesting that Xavier Scott is getting snaps over Akers. That probably means the Vikings like him. Akers would just show up and out snap Chandler.

Last year too, Cashman out and our defense was a bit stinky. Cashman is a really nice player. We got so many injuries it's ridiculous at this point.Monster wrote: ↑Sun Oct 05, 2025 6:50 pm Finally watched this one. I'm biased because I like Eric Wilson but I do think he is an upgrade over the guy they had last year although he did OK playing as a starter as a backup. It's kinda like going from Van Ginkel to some other guy playing snaps. Van Ginkel is just that good.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 05, 2025 7:16 pmLast year too, Cashman out and our defense was a bit stinky. Cashman is a really nice player. It's easy to forget how many players they are replacing and are younger. Bynum is gone 2 new CBs (same as last year) nearly new interior Vanginkel missing time and then they are absolutely playing young dlineman everywhere. Harrison Smith was either out or working himself back in. That's a lot of new stuff. I think the talent overall on the defense this year is better but you don't have a Harrison Phillips or Bynum or even Bullard that know exactly what they are supposed to be doing. It feels very much like Flores is willing to take some lumps to develop guys and to some extent he needs to. I think Pace has had some struggles at times this year making some of the plays he should make. Can the D get and stay healthy and put the scheme all together? We will find out. While each game other than the Bengals it's been frustrating but also signed that this defensive group has something going. It just hasn't been all put together yet.
So this team through some less than perfect circumstances is 3-2 with a bye coming up which comes at a pretty good time to get healthy and maybe figure out what they need to do the rest of the season to get the most out of the roster they have. I think it's somewhat fortunate they are where they are record wise.
