I have no idea what to expect today. It's deflating to me that JJ is unavailable in this one (well, except in an emergency). We could be the cure for Philly's ailments, or maybe we start a winning streak that coincides with players returning to the lineup (Cashman, Jackson this week, and maybe a few others).

Let the "Carson Wentz Revenge Game" begin!

I'm going to this game, Tim, and it's a big one. I know you're deflated that JJ is not starting, but I'm relieved. Athletic reporter Alec Lewis was on Barreiro this week, and his comments about JJ were quite alarming. He was at every practice this summer and early fall, and the disconnect between what the coaches were saying and what he was seeing was enormous. He described JJ as a guy not ready yet for the NFL...missing wide open receivers, making bad reads, and throwing interceptions. Then of course we had the 7 bad quarters led by JJ, and one very good one. We need to win this game if we want to be contenders, and Wentz gives us a much better chance of winning. You have to feel bad for JJ with his two injuries in his first 2 years, but I think the injuries might turn out to be a blessing in his career. One more season of watching a veteran QB might make him more ready next season.

Both teams are battling injuries, but at least the Vikes' offensive line is healthier. Philly is favored by 2 1/2, and I agree it will be a close one. Our run defense has been poor this season, and if Barkley has a big day, Philly wins this one by a field goal.

I occasionally listen to Purple Daily on youtube and I did hear some days he struggled. But he also was awesome on some other days too. So really got to tell the whole story. Overall I heard he was very good.

I'm still all in on JJ, and I think riding Wentz for the year would be a mistake. I very much doubt we'd win a SB with him. Keep the ultimate goal in mind. Not just winning one game. Wentz might be good for a short term win, but long term I think we need better play.

Wentz just stinks really bad at times, just like the halftime guys said. The yolo throws and now missing a wide open first option in the flat? Might have gone for a TD even. I truly believe Brosmer could be better today. If somehow our defense shuts them out we could win on FG's.
