Wolves at Blazers Season Opener GDT

Post by 60WinTim »

Okay, FNG. Here ya go!

I had not seen the back spasm bit on ANT. Hmmm...

I think Portland will be in the playoff mix this year. Tough game for the Wolves opener. The Wolves might be doing well to go 3-2 in the month of October.

Yeah, Portland is probably going to be a bad shooting team, but they will have one of the best defenses in the Association. A lot of respect by Vegas making us 3 1/2 point favorites on the road, especially if Ant is having back issues.

With Donte starting and Conley off the bench I’m guessing dilly probably out of your rotation

I can't tell you how happy that makes me!

Of course, I don't think this will help our turnovers. But I think our pace of play and 3-point volume will benefit!

I could see a universe where both of them get minutes, but their minutes are divvied up by how well Dilly is playing.

There are so many teams that don't run a bigger lineup without a traditional PG that puts Mike at a disadvantage. I really hope this starting lineup takes hold.

I am starting to think TJ will ultimately become Ant's backcourt running mate at some point. The coaching staff and front office seem to mention TJ and playmaking a lot in the same sentence.

Interesting news. Jonny K called this 3 weeks ago, but everything Finchy said made it seem not likely. Barreiro said that Finchy said Ant will be asked to be on ball more, so it sounds more like DiVo is going to be more of a SG...his natural position. If Ant is going to be on ball more, I think our pace of play will actually be slower. Not saying that's a bad thing...just the way Ant likes to play.

I hate to say it on opening night, but 4 1/2 points seems too much to give to Portland...especially if Ant isn't 100%. They push the pace and play aggressive defense...just the kind of team we struggle against. Might have to put down a bet on the Blazers tonight.

(Still gonna cheer for the Wolves though).

Even though TJ is more of a small forward, I definitely see a future where he is Jaylen Brown to Ant's Tatum (or Jalen Williams to Ant's SGA to use another comparison). His play-making during summer league and pre-season was a real revelation to me and elevates his ceiling to another level.

By the way, the promotion of DDV to the starting lineup may end up moving Shannon closer to 7th man status.

ANT is in.

DDV
ANT
Jaden
Randle
Rudy

Utah is up 43-19 on the Clippers after the 1st quarter!

I just hope that isn't a bad omen for the Wolves tonight... ;)
