KOC looked almost disgusted with his post game questions about how the quick game game plan was so successful. Lots of 3 step drops and short throws. Thats not what he likes and wants to do, obviously.Monster wrote: ↑Tue Oct 07, 2025 4:01 pm Wentz had more time against the Browns than any QB so far this season. Turns out it was those bum olineman playing before that was the problem. I think Wentz has done his job reasonably well in not completely terrible but less than idea circumstances. I think it's clear they think McCarthy is nearly healthy they dumped their 3rd QB for that last game because apparently Cam Akers was better. Lol
Honestly I'm not worried about this much at all. KOC has earned some trust here. I also think they still believe in McCarthy and if I was them I would want to find out something sooner rather than later. Maybe not the next game of he isn't fully healthy but my guess is he will be and then he will get his shot again.
And that for sure has been a complaint of mine of him in the past, he sticks to his system too much (long developing routes and thus pressures and sacks). Even when it's obvious in a game that our OLine isn't getting it done.
To take the other side the offense is mostly successful overall during his tenure. I can also see that it would be impossible to call "short game" routes when you haven't installed them too. When the gameplan stinks we're kind of screwed.
That said I think a better mix would be ideal. Have a better range of quick passes and deep ones (primary targets) in each game plan.
And finally, is that why we have stunk in the playoffs? 0-2. Facing the better teams you need to be even more flexible to get it done and win however you can. Not just stick to your system too religiously.
