I haven't seen such an epic blunder by a coach and team in a long time.
But Randle and Ant can't go 1 for 4 on free throws in crunch time like that. The game is done if they just hit 3 of 4. Plus they were in the middle of the TOs and dumb final shot, so I put this game on our two main stars. Finch puts a ton of trust in his players and they failed in closing the game out.
Randle is not a "star", you can't suck at defense and ballhandling and have a career net negative plus minus and be a star. He's a statpadder. I guess if you take out the "tpadde", he's a "sta" "r". LOL

Sure but Finch calls TO up 6 (instead of turnover quick 3P) and we win the game. I would also go to Mike on the in bound play to get fouled. He's been there done that a thousand times and is a great FT shooter too.

Finch and the players biffed it both for sure.

If I'm understanding correctly tho, the refs biffed it to, as it should have been a delay of game and a tech on Brooks after that 3 point shot that brought the game within 6. Hit the technical FT and gain possession,.who knows maybe it's a 9 point game after that, but the refs missed a critical call and the Sun get a 3.

Still inexcusable stuff on the part of the Wolves, but the zebras messed up too (just what I'm reading)

Yeah, in hindsight Finch should have called a TO, but if we are going to give all the credit to players for game winning plays and shots than they also deserve most of the blame when things go awry like tonight. This could have been a fairly easy crunch time win if our two stars simply made their free throws and protected the ball in the last one or two minutes.

Onwards....

Agreed. It's easy to blame the coach but he only had the one timeout left right? Your players need to execute right there so you don't have to use the last T.O.

Terrible loss. Officials missing delay of game call, then Ant missing 2 free throws at the clutch. Plus the usual boneheaded turnovers in clutch time.

Pathetic.

We were up 8 with 52 seconds to go. That could be the worst choke I have witnessed by this team ever.

As I’ve said before TC has filled this roster with higher character guys. But unfortunately not high IQ guys.

But thats the key point in the game, the ONLY chance to lose it was to turn it over there and they hit a quick 3. You in bounds it hit a FT or two and go home a winner. Saving the TO after they stole all the momentum was useless, just put the game away when you have the chance.

I generally think Finch does a great job but that was the key moment to either ice it or blow it.

Here's the bottom line. The coaches job is to put players and the team in the best situation to win, he failed to do his job allowing the bad in bounds turnover and quick dagger 3 to put them within 3. That was the biggest moment to either ice the game or blow it (TO in bounds play to Mike, seal the win). You go back up 7 or 8 knocking more time off and the game is really over, no momentum, the other team gives up.
