Just the third time in Wolves history the Wolves have started 10-5. 2nd time in Finch's tenure.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 9:29 am Wolves sitting at 10-5 on pace for 55 wins.
However our schedule has been light and we haven't beaten good team yet. I'd say OK start, but not where we would like to be.

I think our hope is, we haven't played our best or even B game against those winning squads. IF we start playing better we could be in for a nice season/postseason.FNG wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 10:11 amYeah, 10-0 against teams with losing records, and 0-5 against teams with winning records. Mathematically a 10-5 record projects to 55 wins, but if you only beat teams with losing records, it's more like 41 wins. So I'll go out on a limb and predict the Wolves will end up with somewhere between 41 and 55 wins!Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 9:29 am Wolves sitting at 10-5 on pace for 55 wins.

Friday night against the Suns will tell us a lot about who we really are, as they are 9-6. I saw an early line that had the Wolves favored by 3 1/2, and that probably has a lot to do with the Suns missing Green and maybe Allen...of course we don't know if Jaden will play. It's a huge game for us not only because we have a chance for our first win against a winning team, but also because it's a cup game. I'm usually a homer optimist, but unless Ant gets out of his doldrums, I think there will be a lot of gloom and doom on this board Friday night and Saturday.

And if not, this team will be a play in team. Hence my 48 win prediction

In Klunk-O-Meter fashion, I put Denver and OKC in tier 1, and the Wolves along with other "seemingly playoff-bound teams" in tier 2. I get roughly 60 wins for the Wolves. They have had 1 klunker thus far -- the home game against the Lakers. I have not decided whether Phoenix is playoff-bound or not. Getting the win tomorrow makes it a moot point and keeps the Wolves on track for roughly 60 wins.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 2:28 pmThat’s the bright side view and it’s a reasonable one.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 20, 2025 11:03 amI think our hope is, we haven't played our best or even B game against those winning squads. This is now a terrible basketball team. After 10-5 and now 10-8 after the OKC loss we are on pace for 46 wins.
What made me think we'd have a chance to get better? We're getting worse!

Either the meltdowns stop and we get better or changes will be made. Alore won't sit on their hands forever.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 25, 2025 4:48 am This is now a terrible basketball team. After 10-5 and now 10-8 after the OKC loss we are on pace for 46 wins.

I hope you're right Q because I don't want my prediction to come true. Ant is clearly not happy with the way things are going as of late. I think it is time for a coaching change before things get worse. At the very least they need to shore up the roster and get the front office on the same page as the coaching staff. We simply don't have enough quality guys on the roster, and Finch's options are severely limited in games like today (although he is deserves a good portion of the blame for not developing some of the younger guys). Playing Joan in the early 4th quarter against chicago with several starters would have been a step in the right direction.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Tue Nov 25, 2025 7:32 amEither the meltdowns stop and we get better or changes will be made. But we can't have it both ways when it comes to the young guys. Finch did play Dillingham and Shannon in an expanded 10-man rotation and they were terrible! We lost big-time the minutes Shannon played. Joan in theory makes sense given his defensive potential, but I have my doubt as to how effective he''ll actually be if given non-garbage time minutes.mjs34 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 31, 2025 11:50 pmI hope you're right Q because I don't want my prediction to come true. Having said that, I wouldn't be opposed to a coaching change. And it's not because I think Chris Finch is a bad coach or that he is even at fault. If you look at the group dynamics of a professional sports team, sometimes simply changing the head coach can be a jolt to the overall dynamic of the team, even if he technically isn't any more qualified than the prior coach. It's not 100% guaranteed, but it's an easy lever to pull for the front office.
Re: ***OFFICIAL 2025-26 WINS PREDICTION THREAD + PLAYOFFS PREDICTION***
Even though we are on pace for a 51-win season which would give this year's title to WildWolf and me, I think this team is underperforming. We're not deep, and I don't know that I would be giving many minutes to guys like TJ, Rob and our teenage giants if I were Finchy either, but our top 6 is loaded: 2 certain future HOFers, a freakishly long and athletic SF with an emerging offensive game, a 40%+ 3-point shooting guard who brings 100% effort every night, a PF averaging 22.3/7/5.8, and a 6th man who is a perennial 6MOY candidate. Sprinkle in our 7-10 guys as needed, and I still see this as a championship contender. So I also would not be opposed to a coaching change. I like Finchy and I also like Nori, but more and more I think this team needs a fiery get-in-your-fave kind of coach more than nice guys like Finchy or Nori. I can't help but think that a tough coach like Jenkins, Malone or even Thibs might get more out of guys like Ant than we are getting.
I don't know that I agree with sjm that Ant is unhappy right now. Yes, he threw a hissy fit yesterday as he went to the locker room early, but he still seems joyful to me most of the time whether he's on the court or on the bench. I think he is a big fan of Finchy and might not be happy with a coaching change, but I would consider it anyway/
