Re: Kekgeek grades G17 vs Kings
I'm putting that good stint by Dilly in the bank and hoping it accrues interest.

Did he really say that?!? Good for him if he did. Hopefully its something that brings the team together, but could backfire and fracture the team. ANT has got to be better.
Re: Kekgeek grades G17 vs Kings
Two consecutive games now with Ant scoring more than 40 and the team fading down the stretch. I may tee up a thread later today to discuss whether this team needs to move on from Finchy...the head coach has to take some responsibility for our late game failures.
Finchy promised he would move away from playing just 8 guys this season, and he has. But I didn't think that meant he was going to shorten the rotation to just 7 guys! Last night the Kings played 10 players 10 minutes or more, and we played just 7 for the second game in a row. 3 other players had cameo appearances only . When we lay a turd in clutch time two games in a row, you have to wonder if fatigue from playing such a short rotation is a factor.
I know there is disagreement on this board as to whether we need to upgrade the PG position. I'm not there yet...what I think is that we need to change the offensive style, and let our 2 PGs actually play the position. Last night Conley and Rob had 8 assists and only 1 turnover (the non PGs on the team had 13 assists and 16 turnovers!) and although I didn't watch the second half, my understanding is the offense again was mostly initiated by Ant and Ju. I wonder if the outcome last night would have been different if Finchy had insisted our PGs run the offense and our two main scorers (who were a combined -24 with 8 turnovers) played more off ball.

Yup. Found it on youtube. Finch's post-game presser kind of hinted at some of this problem, too.kekgeek wrote: ↑Tue Nov 25, 2025 10:28 amThis is what Jace put so in assuming it’s legit.

Re: Kekgeek grades G17 vs Kings
Mike Conley played 25 minutes last night. He scored 3 points, was 1-4 from the field, had 5 assists and was a -3. Dilly only played 9 minutes and had almost as many assists as Conley. That makes absolutely no sense.
Overall this team continues to perform at a level substantially below the sum of its parts. Rudy’s comment was telling but there’s more to it than that - like Finch’s rotations and obsession with playing Mike Conley while giving Dilly absolutely no slack.
I’m just about ready for a new head coach.

This is the first time "new coach" thoughts have ever crossed my mind. Maybe KG4ever was ahead of his time!Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 25, 2025 12:21 pm Mike Conley played 25 minutes last night. I am willing to cut Finch some slack as he works to build confidence with 3 new players. It takes time. I am sure Connelly will give him that time. But if this trend of clutch time failures continues through the trade deadline, the pressure on Connelly to do something will mount (whether it be player(2) or coach).
