Is it time to move on from Finchy

We've broached this topic in other threads, but with the back to back late game collapses (actually 3 games in a row, because they collapsed late against the Wizards too), I think this is going to become a talker. I'll create a poll and it will allow voters to change their vote as conditions change.

I've always been a Finchy supporter, but the events of this week have caused me to think we need to find a new coach. For those who vote to move on, also offer who you would bring in as coach. I think the presence of a still young Ant on the roster would make this an easy position to fill.

Interesting, D'...he's the first one that came to mind for me too. It might be helpful to have a former PG as our coach as opposed to a coach who doesn't seem to like a PG-dominant offense.

By the way, I have a sneaking suspicion the Wolves might be playing for Finchy's job tomorrow night. I wouldn't be shocked if our new owners made a move if we get blown out in OkC.

Being the decisive type, I immediately voted "may be".

I think it's still too early to make a move on Finch, but sometimes losses are so egregious that a move has to be made. I think he's earned the benefit of the doubt for now, but another epic meltdown with a late lead could do it.

Maybe, I would be surprised if they fired him after the OKC loss. I could see if we are struggling in a couple weeks though for sure. Being around .500 or just above a third of the season in, you can't have that.

Unless things are much worse behind the scenes I would hold off a bit longer and see how things play out.

I'm not ready to put a bullet in Finch yet. But I would say he needs to get control of the team, he can't just let Ant do whatever he wants out there. A good floor general would really help. Let's look at the Celtics as a possible trade partner (White, Pritchard).

With the low IQ of our offensive players, a more structured play set would truly benefit this group. We do not have the collective team IQ to run the triangle and asking them to "move" on offense doesn't help. Ever notice that the scrubs during preseason games and blowouts have more movement and easy dunks/layups? It sure looks that way to me.

2nd post, I said maybe but the more I think about it I'm leaning more yes, but I'm fine giving him and the team a couple more games to turn it around. Let's see how it looks and how the players respond. Do they want a coaching change? If not go out and turn it around.

Also Ant has nearly only known Finch as a pro, Ryan was fired midway through that year. Maybe WCF is Finchies ceiling, maybe Ant gets even better with a new voice?

I tend to blame the players 95% for wins and losses, but a coaching change could maybe help in the long run. These late game crumbles are not new to Finch either. It's been a I think too often theme over the years, the late game clutch time losses.

I would love some stats on it, not sure how to find it, but do we actually suck more then other teams with our record in clutch time and do we blow more games then similar teams? I think we do, but as a homer, I'm not sure.

The 4 man lineup of Ant, Jaden, Julius, and Rudy is statistically dominating the league. We need a real point guard to become a contender and be able to handle the pressure of OKC. It's time for a big swing on a trade.
